Found something that I am REALLY excited about. It seems perfect for a RC beginner like me. Can anyone help me with their experiences and suggestions for Powerplant / ESC/ Servos etc?

Has anyone ever built one of these before? Izmile, my champion, I told you that I would make life miserable for you if I was ever bitten by the Corobug! Like it or not, here I come with all my stupid questions!

Bought a huge sheet of Coro yesterday. 6' X 4'  - 2 mm,  double wall. Rs.150/-. Dying to start building this. Wish me luck..............

I pray that you end up with something more beautiful than this.

In the first launch, I almost felt that the props were about to hit his hand.

Please help me with these queries:

(a) Suggest a b/bl motor for this aircraft with all up weight around 450 grams. I gues it will have to be B/L
(b) What servos should I use? I have a couple of 8 gram servos lying around. Will they do?
(c) Suggest me a matching ESC.
(d) Suggest me a Prop.
(e) Need RX Batteries for 6 Ch /4 Ch Chinese W Fly / Cyclone (Heli type) receivers.
(e) How much will the above cost me and where can i get it from in India?

Regarding Electric set up, these are the recommendations:

Our 'ideal' brushed setup:

    * Speed 400 motor (6V type)
    * 8 cell (9.6V) battery or 3S (11.1V LiPo)
    * Suitable ESC (capable of handling >18A, to be safe)
    * Günther push-on prop or our carbon/plastic prop with adapter

Our 'ideal' brushless setup:

    * 28mm diameter inrunner motor (2000-3000kV)
    * 3S (11.1V LiPo) at least 1500mA and 15-20C
    * Suitable brushless ESC with LiPo voltage cutouts >30A
    * Propeller (5x5" CAM to , 4.7x4.7" CAM depending on kV)

Let me share my experience.
I had made two Mugies both with 3 mm coro in a span of 6 months, about a year back.
1. This is not for beginers.
2. in order to balance correctly with Lipos, and brushless u have to modify the plans.
3. Pl see the photos whre i have moved the motor with a prop slot.
4. Very sensitive to elevons, i had kept DR @ 20%

if u are a beginer Mugi may not the right choice. If u are particular about coro and the wing design try Stingray.

Greetings..I am attempting to make the stingray, I have just the coro with me, as per the plan we have to cut a square of 100cm by 40cm but unfortunately my coro is folded would it matter ? Can I still go ahead and cut the coro as mentioned ?

Can you also please mention any other things I should keep in mind. Thanks would be a great help.

I assume that the coro is folded longitudinally.(along the flutes). if so it does not matter functionally, though suffers bit aesthetically. u can also buy new coro sheet for <200.00
U can also make it using Depron. Then it will be a real floater.
Atul, just make it as per the plan. u will not regret.

Have you used a bio-foam sheet or coro ? I guess coro would make it really heavy.
