A few months after I started flying helis, I wanted to try flying airplanes also.  Looking around, I found a bunch of foam planes at the local Thunder Tiger dealer.  They had a good set of Expo 3Ds, Giles 202s and Christen Eagle Bipes, all at around QR140 each (about Rs.1650), which is a great price considering the fact that they came with everything except the ESC, 3 micro servos and a 4 channel reciever !  They even include the epoxy used to build the plane, and tapes for fixing the control surfaces.

Here are some links.

The supplied 370 brushed motor is good for normal flight, but not very good for 3D (especially hovering).  So I upgraded to 3cell lipo brushless setup using a Electrifly Rimfire motor and Silver 10A esc, and an APC 10x4.7 slow-flyer prop.

This is a great plane, and can do pretty much any 3D manouver after the brushless upgrade.  I crashed it many times, mostly trying low 3D stuff, but was easy to put back using some epoxy.  For fuselage breaks, I starting adding small sheets of X-Ray film with epoxy to strengthen the frame, after major crashes  ;D

Finally, after many many crashes, I went ahead and bought two more, and moved the eletronics from the old one to one of the new ones. That is the plane I fly most.  The other new one is still in the kit, waiting for this one to get totalled !

The most amazing thing about this plane was the amount of wind it could handle.  Even though it is a foamy, it could handle upto 15 knots of wind, and is a pleasure to fly.

I would highly recommend this plane to anyone. I am planning post some pics/videos soon.

Hai all,
I am new to this fild. I buy one MOSS GLIDER from RCFORALL. Can i get thunder tiger foam plane in india?

I am not aware if it is available locally in India, you may want to check with local Thunder Tiger dealers (these are the same people who sell the Raptor series of helicopters from Thunder Tiger).

It is a great plane for any model shop to carry though ! If you go by my experience, it should sell like hot cakes  ;D

I feel like I need to grab some video of it flying and post it here for everyone to see.  Will do it ASAP.

The local Thunder Tiger dealer here (a store named HobbyLand) had about 50 pieces combined of Expo 3Ds, Giles 202s and Christen Eagles Bipes (all foamies), all were sold out in a short time  :o

Been wanting to build another foamie for myself for a while now.  Finally got around to it.  Took out the spare Expo 3D kit that was procured about a year back.

Setup as follows :

TowerPro 2409-12 motor, 25A ESC and 9x4.7 prop combo.
Zippy FlightMax 3s 1000mAH lipos.
Turnigy servos.
Futaba R6106HS 2.4Ghz park flyer "single antenna" receiver.

Hovers at 35% throttle.

The only thing weird done on this was that I used the original brushed motor mount, but mounted the brushless motor on it. So the motor is to one side of the fuse. Can't see any issues in test flights, including inverted and knife-edge.
