i had collage lab at 9 in the morn and was handed out a square sheet to do the welding job..... just thought can this thing fly....!! BOOM eureaka got back home, and headed for the workshop still the idea running in my mind. cut a foam square 2' X 2' and put some verticle flute and some horizontal ( even making the hinges fr the elevons)
now the next thing was how will i make a motor mount for this... was just going through my spares box and found a stick mount.... ( which motor is this for..??) then remembered i had brought a motor and ESC from jitendra 4 months... searched and found... got the stick for a neighbourhood ply store. mounted...
some servos out, some connectors, control horns( usually got from HK when weight is left , have lot of these),and the corona reciever... now left thinking .... " i have 3S 1300,1250 mAh batteries they will be heavy :headscratch:..??"
another boom... had brought a 3S 610mAh from rajath 6-7 months back... searched... found placed.
all done small fins added at the back and 4 at the bottom to avoid damaging the bottom ( not to mention prop)
ready to fly.. had the maiden in the eve... and flys like a charm...!!
TOTAL BUILD TIME : 1hr 10mins
70 minutes construction
nice..... {:)}
good job there Vish
Amazing!!!!!!
Congrats on the Pizzabox Flyer! Video please...............
Great :salute:......how to balance CG in this :headscratch:?
Hmmm!!! I tried a similar feat for my 32" Version of the 'Swift like KESL" Flying wing, and tried to build it in an evening last Sat. Well the build actually started 11PM and by 3AM I gave up. KFM4, only dimension to work on instead of a 'Stick-on drawing' added to complexity.
Great job Vishvesh.... you chose the right model to finish just in time..
@ asinghatiya: did not find any formula to calc the cg for this thing so just took it 1/3rd form the start... works well...
@VC sir : rightly said.(pizza box :giggle:) actually i took it on my bike alone to fly on a near by ground. so no vids :( will sure get some in short time... mostly this sunday :hatsoff:
@ujjwaana: there is no aerofoil for this . just sheets... but does work.. Kfm4 is a bit tricky... one hint paste one sheet of coro between two of foam.. draw a line half way or 1/3rd way on the foam and sant the foam from the line to get leading edge. check pic( hope u can adjust for the drawing)
red is the coro, gray is the foam, and the part to be sanded by the black line...
@ augustine sir: thanks :salute: :salute:
@shubhambilawar : thanks buddy.
