hi,I am a beginner, so can any tell me if I can use the following gear for a 24" blue baby-
Motor-1700kv
ESC-12A
Prop-60x30
battery-650mAH,3 cell.
If not please suggest the best for it. :help:

rohitgupta322

A 1700kv motor with a 6x3 prop is not meant for trainer airplanes like Blu-Baby.

Motor kv for it should be in the range of 1100kv to 1300kv and something like a 9X4.7 sf prop.

This is a pic of GT2210.

kalvik

and I am thinking to use 20c 1000mah or 20c 800mah.

rohitgupta322

Well, I feel that a 204 watt motor would be an overkill for Blu-Baby. Look for something like 120-150 watts. This is just my opinion but do wait for the expert opinions on this.

akky

100 to 110 watts would be enough with a9x4.7 sf prop  or a 8043 and  1300 mah 3s lipo
i suggest the best motor for it willl be a fc 2812
Arcarious @ Akky.....

in that case I will EMAX ESC 18A

kalvik

can we use cycle spokes for reinforcement?

ajith

spokes  are not a very good reinforcement.  (even i thought of using !!)
as they easily  bend & are just 1 feet in length

try using  thin 3*3mm wooden strips .....

better wait till some senior answers !!

bokilap

Carbon fiber rods are available now at LHS. Spokes bend easily, not good for reinforcements

rohitgupta322

Yes carbon fibre is the best option available.

Well, it depends on your budget. If your budget is around 3.5k then you don't have much options.

rohitgupta322

k stands for 1000. So 3.5k = 3.5X1000=3500
