the weight of my new balsa model is 700gms (excluding motor, batt, esc). i wish to buy ( http://www.rcdhamaka.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=516 ) this motor, an avionic esc of 30A and a 3S-2200maH-20c battery and 10*5E prop.
Is this combination okay to fly this model??

The motor is more than adequate for your plane weight. I have flown my 1000 gms avispad with this motor. By the way, I hope your's is a trainer model.

thank you!! what were your field size where you had flown your 1000 gms model?

vishalrao

You need almost the size of a football field to be able to enjoy the flying.

btw let me know the size of the control surfaces you used and their respective deflection angles!! the wingspan and length of your model. also let me know how do you charge the battery?
do you do that by taking it out of your model or the other way round?

what do you mean "other way around"? by taking the aircraft out of the battery?  ;D
if it's a lipo then it's a good idea to take it out and charge it, incase something happens to it... plus it will be difficult to wire it to charge while inside the plane...

The model I built was Avispad. You can find the plan at:

Regarding the battery, it can be placed in the plane using velcro. You can remove it after flying to charge.

or you could use any of the avionics mototr from rcbazaar
the link http://rcbazaar.com/products/1911-avionic-c3542-kv1250-brushless-motor-132-gms.aspx
you can combine it with a 40amp esc and a 2s you would get 1400gms. and 3s you would get 2100grms

Regarding deflection angles (throws), 7-10mm up/down should be enough to start with for the elevator/aileron.
