I would be wary of such off-brand motors.

Would you be interested in a Tacon motor? Like I said last time, I know a guy in Bangalore who wants to sell a 1/8 BL system. If you're interested, let me know.

I'm afraid I couldn't tell a good ground motor from a bad one. They both appear to be identical in specs in fact the same price. I like the flat on the shaft but I've never seen any new motor come with a pre-pressed dent in the shaft before. That would put me right off the seller. It looks to me as if that motor has been used. There is simply no reason for a motor to be manufactured with that mark.

Whenever I buy anything which the seller tells me "it's never been used" I start checking for things like that. Who knows, he could have purhased a wreck from someone, stripped it and selling the parts as new. A guy tried to sell me some boat parts earlier this year and one of the items was a nice looking rudder. Unusual to find a black one. On closer inspection it was coloured with a marking pen. Both the ESC and motor cooling gear had small amounts of water in them and the paint around the mounting holes on the motor were scratched. If he had told me it was used I would have bought it but he said brand new, never used. Goodbye and don't come back.

Have fun at school, if that's possible. Hurry back and get your vehicle running. Sorry, I still can't see why  a motor would be any different after having a magnet reglued. The bond is often better than it started with. I definitely wouldn't be throwing it away. It would be ok for practice if the thought of it being a repair bothers you. personally I would use it with the thought it was better than new. When I build a new racing boat Ipull everything I can apart and check it, lubricate it, adjust it, add shims if needed and put it all back together. Most motors I've purchased have found to have no lubrication whatever, anywhere.

I would suggest the X802 in a heartbeat but it will need a new ESC and capable batteries. Make sure it fits your Nexx8. I'm too lazy to find its dimensions online.

You over revved the motor, didn't you?

Pretty sure that's what killed that motor.

Holding the throttle wide open when the car is airborne can cause over revving. Very hard to avoid whilst in a race because if you back off the car will slow down when landing. In this situation the better quality motors, ESCs and batteries are required and to win races you have to be prepared to spend money and lots of it. More money more speed and more parts wearing out or breaking so more money again. When does it stop?

We had a club in my town and it closed for that very reason. Guys thought they could just buy a car and win. They quickly found out that it was costing most of their wages on better parts. It's a never ending battle and the only people smiling are the sellers and manufacturers. My Grandson races just with friends and he told me he spends at least $150.00 a week to buy new parts for just 2 cars. He's thinking of giving it up and buying a plane.

Good luck with the new motor, Regards  Stu

Not necessarily. Once you hit the jump, you don't really have to do much if your car flies decently. A tiny bit of throttle or brake will be good enough to correct the attitude of the car. If you give it full throttle in the air, chances are, it will land rear end first.
