Title: esc repair
Post by: Tanmay.mathur on October 21, 2015, 04:37:53 PM
hi all
the story begins 1 month ago i accidently touched 2 of the 3 wires of motor esc junction and i heard a pop sound . after that the motor never ran.
after removing the esc shrink wrap i found the capacitor can to be freely rotating after replacing that with a standard capacitor i saw magic smoke coming from esc . and i found the 2 FET like looking voltage regulators were also burnt .
so i decided to replace 3 parts
1 a low esr panasonic capacitor (470microF 25v)
2 2x voltage regulators ( 78mo5)
i have found these things from mouser  . seniors please confirm that those are the right stuff to order.
Thanks in advance

Please post pictures of the ESC and the numbers of the damaged parts if possible. It is possible that they were FETs. You will also have to ensure they are in the right SMD package. Also, check the ESC specifications to know whether it has a linear or switching BEC. The 7805 is only if it has a linear BEC since it is a linear regulator.

Tanmay! Why do you take a risk? Simple, get a cheap one off ebay.in it cost only 500 and would save you the pain of ordering diffrent parts online and the problems faced when the replacements do not work.
