Hello all,

I am very new to Rc hobby and just got a Skysurfer V3 which has a problem in it's ESC of 30 Amp..can I replace it with 20 Amp or 40 Amp ESC.

How is lower or higher Amp going to effect the flight?

Hey Vinay,
You can use a 40A or 30A ESC with the V3, a higher ESC is better cause it doesn't heat up much, I always prefer a higher rated ESC so that I don't have to keep upgrading them when I go for a bigger motor, and it also prevents the overheating. Hope I helped.

Hi Vinay,
Before switching on to another ESC I would advise you to kindly check the max. current or burst current of your motor. Amp rating of ESC depends on it. It is always better to go for higher Amp rating than the max. current so that it could handle all load from motor. Since, it is using 30A ESC I guess the max. current would be above 20A. So, kindly check the max. current.

Thanks Arjun and Utkarsh..but I am unaware of technical things like burst current from motor.

just see your motor technical specs.check whether motor max amp(burst amp) is less than 30 ampere.if so, your esc is capable of driving the motor.higher the esc rating higher is the amp and cost. ;) :)
