Hey guys, we all know that its very important to program ESC properly before test flight. And with multirotor this step may give you a entire different result. One of the important part is where you program your esc to Ni-MH or Ni-CD

Wanna know how can we program ESC to Ni-MH or Ni-CD?? :headscratch: With out a ESC programmer (i dont have that right now) is it possible? ??? we can program the throttle but battery type??

Satya,to programme an ESC of todays standard you need not a programming card.. instead, it is sure, that if you purchased an ESC as new, there must be a instruction leaflet with the ESC.. and 99.9% ESCs are produced in a same factory or in a same manner with similar components.. i have repaired lots of ESCs around last year, one even yesterday, send me by one of my Friend, considered as dead, and i found 100% of used components are same.. but with various brand name.. none of any ESC is coming out with a punched company name or markings.. and all comes with a paper sticker sticked over the ESC just like a sticker.. if you examine the ESC carefully, will identify the stuff is same.. may be a slight difference, in beeping notes and manual or auto.. i told you this because, you can programe an ESC simply.. at first please tell me what made you have.. means the company name.. so, can look in to leaflet along with it, and can programme it simply.. for programming, move the throttle stick of TX in to maximum.. switch it on.. remove or take care about props around you.. simply plug in battery to RX as the TX still in on mode.. so, instead of a conformation note, you will hear an unusual like long beep from ESC.. then it goes like one , two , three...progress.. each notes indicate each function.. means, when you hear two beeps from ESC  (through motor), it indicates the ESC is entered in start up mode.. if you want to set the start up mode, you have to down the throttle stick within two seconds of the beeps heared.. instantly the ESC emitts a second long beeps as one , two, three..etc.. the one may be soft.. then two normal.. and three very soft..etc.. it all falls in to the manufacturer.. so it is easy to programme an ESC.. and if you feel anythinbg wrong, can reset it all to setting this to Factory default.. will be reseted to original parameters.. its all easy..

Sirjee i thought that was how we program ESC for throttle max and min values.  :headscratch: :headscratch:

This is the one i have http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__6457__Hobbyking_SS_Series_18_20A_ESC.html does not comes with a manual.

When you connect the battery and power on the ESC, you will hear beeps as below. After 3rd beep sequence it will repeat same sequence. If you want to select Ni-XX bring down the throttle stick to idle at second sequence. ESC will be ready for Ni-XX battery.

first – Lipo *peep* - *short pause* - *peep*
second – Ni-XX *peep*peep* - *short pause* - *peep*peep*
third – Brake *peep*peep*peep* - *short pause* - *peep*peep*peep*

So when do i have to move throttle to 0 when its paused or
after the second sequence??

Like
THR - MAX

TURN ON ESC

first – Lipo *peep* - *short pause* - *peep*
second – Ni-XX *peep*peep* - *short pause* - *peep*peep*

THR - MIN

or

THR - MAX

TURN ON ESC

first – Lipo *peep* - *short pause* - *peep*
second – Ni-XX *peep*peep* - THR - MIN  - *peep*peep*

Satya bro it's simple. From manual posted above you have 3 functions which you can change.
LIPO
Ni-xx
Brake on.
Each function has unique tone.
Lipo - single peep 3 times
Ni-xx - double peep 3 times
Brake on - triple peep 3 times.
So if you want Ni-xx mode selected, raise throttle to max and power up your esc and it will go into programing mode. First don't change anything but hear beeps carefully and try to understand whether it's same pattern given in manual or not. If it's ok then reconnect esc. Now when  wait 3 single *peep* to finish and then 3 double *peep* will start playing raise throttle down quickly. You will get confirmation tone and you are done.
