Now if i want to fix this on my quads arm then i would need the mount (base to be removed) is that possible to remove mount?

I do see some screw sort of thing at the side but i am not able to understand hence thought to confirm before trying anything.

Satya, from the photographs of the given link, it is so clear that, base of this motor is simply removable, that you can see two flush mount screws on the base ridge of the motor, with Allen key head, opposite each other, and can unscrew with an apropriate size Allen key.. this key may be in 1 or 1.5 mm, and can purchase from any general purpose tool shop, as you can take motor with you..  make sure that the purchased key is a good one in quality, if not, the hex edges of key will become oval when in torque.. you can re fix this base anytime, back again..and the screws will be secured in a channel of the base of the motor..

Satya, I'd recommend not to remove the base mount. How do you plan to fix the motor on the arm without it?

Not without mount, what i want to do is:

I want to make drill holes on the arms, now for that i have to first mark the points. Now the mount is so small that i can literally put anything through it to mark a point.

So the plan is to remove the mount, mark the points and then screw the mount back on the motor and fix it on arms..

O.K. This is what I do.

1) Measure the distance between the holes (yours is square...easy) and drill them on a sample flat plastic square piece.

OR

2) Use a tracing paper or transparent plastic box piece to mark the holes.

Don't try to remove the mount, it's a nice tight factory fit.

well not bad but why not remove the mount and fix it after the job is done?? any thing might go wrong kya??

Well' the factory fit is precise and tight. If you re-fit it, the motor might vibrate. Try making a sample square piece with (cardboard or 2mm plastic) by measuring the hole distances, it always works great for me.

Hi, I am also struggling with a motor and mount.

I have this motor

and electric Piper J3.

All done but, when I tried fitting this motor on its mount, I found that this mount need a motor which can be fitted from front like in Helis.

Can I push this motor's Shaft ahead in it ??

it is nothing wrong to remove and rework any machine, for our needs, but only follow, that if you are an eligible person to carry on such alterations.. means, to make a rework, you must need thourough knowledge, and ideas that what you are going to do.. and removing a motor mount is not a problem, and i found its all just fit, and not by pressure, on to motor base.. here, you can see a same type motor..and can also see an Allen key, is a tool for this special purpose.. and can also perform this work with a mobile phone screw driver kit, as it contains most of the little size keys with it..

we can buy any key to size or as a full set..
insert the key in to the screw with allen key heads.. unscrew it gently..

now removed..all simple..can see two screws each side..actually these tiny screws are holding the motor in place..!!
we can also see the ridges on motor base, the ridge holds the screws..

now back in place anytime.. make sure all things are sound after installation.. because even a slight carelesness can shoot out any motor from any mount..because these motors are extreme machines of their size and wattage.. 

friends yesterday morning i Was also struggling with same kind CF22 Motor. And finally able to open , same as Rppoeshji had described .

 

hey guys so finally here is what i did.

As suggested by Swap bro i made a marking on the cardboard and pointed the points where to drill. This was perfect and faced no problem. But then when i tried to screw it, the space between the mount and the motor prevented me to put the screw driver, hence i had to remove the mount as suggested by Roopesh.

Let me tell you its very easy to remove and fix them back, and it really helps to fix the mount perfectly and tight. The only matter of concern is the screw which are very tiny, so don't loose them.

All in all i got the work done with removing the mount with ease.

yes its all easy.. and if you are not weight concerned, you can change these tiny Allen key screws with normal flat or cross head screws..

Thanks man! I used to be afraid of removing the mount.
I just purchased nut-bolts that were short enough to fit in the space between the motor and mount. Now I can remove it without worrying!

Hi, look at this motor and Mount.

This mount's requirement is to take the moter from inside. My outrunner has its shaft on the front and fixing plate at its back.

Is it possible to move this shaft back so that I can fix this motor on this mount from inside???

Because of this problem I am not able to fix it beautiful cowl on motor.

I temperorly fitted this motor over the mount and did a maiden flight of the beautiful piper cub.

Because of you I could mount my motor on a piece of Ply. I was perplexed with fixing the motor only with screws. I was not able to find a way except nuts and bolts (impossible to get required size in our area). Because of you illustrations, I could remove the firewall mount and fix it over the ply and then fix the motor over it.

BTW I did not find the slots for screws holding the mount on motor nor could I find ridges. I have a second hand 2805.

in some motor designs there must not be a ridge or channel on base..but the base will be with soft aluminum..so the screw pnches in as it tightens.. we must make sure that the screws are enough tight about .7 Nm almost..
