Good morning all of My Friends...when i seriously started to make water based crafts, after joining in Model Boat Mayhem,my real head ache was the control system..most of the professional radios come with a range of 12000/- to 25000/- Rs range...so i know many of nice tallented modellers are still keeping distances from RC hobby..but its time to say that NOOO...all because we can use a toy RC for us..as i started to understand more about the toy RC, i came up with nice things about it...most of the toy Rcs are based on RX and Tx integrated chips..to generate pulses and mixer freequencies...then now i know most of the professional radios are based on these real system, but with a slight difference..still the basics are same...so, i found the pulses and intermediate frequencies are same, is in to PWM, and 455 k cycles as IF..so it was too easy to make one...one of the real dis advantage is concern to a toy RC is its limited range of propagation...but as we know the RF power amp circuits, wedding with a system, with a RF power amp was too easy...

rathikrishna

so i made it...and range...? for a professional system, its almost 700 meter square..but here more than 3 kms..around..and can avoid al inteferr: by adding a crystal in RX and TX...so now, 100 of my modelas are running in toy RC...then, one of the great advantage of a toy rc is its freedom of connection ...and no restriction about a servo, as its moving arm gives us a limited movement...so a speed controller was my next head ache,,now i made it too...here i am posting my speed controler with toy rc, its inexpensive..but effective and proven...

rathikrishna

its all same to the circuit i posted in my speed controllers...

rathikrishna

here a 50 k ohms rotary type control is used, because it is driven by a toy motor, via a belt...

rathikrishna

and you can see a driven puley is from a capstan from an old walk man...

rathikrishna

now belt to drive the pulley...

rathikrishna

now its on base...ready for show down...

rathikrishna

you can se the toy RC board to drive it...

rathikrishna

and a motor from a cars centre locking mechanism..and reworked for me...

rathikrishna

you can see the original winding and reworked windings here...

Dini..i am posting all here not to look and comment..but you must try it once as all of my equipments are tested and proved for many years...so you must try and must save a lots of money...and send me some nice ice creams for me...hi...hi...

see some of my videos...al with same set ups...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxVYv5m-2jA&feature=related

and    so sure...try it once...

so nice...find a CPU fan at first...and keep it with you..by today i will make an article to alter it according to your needs...can change the sped, brake, and reverse...

pankaj

well i think FET's don't like mechanical switching and the SPARK will more when using 4s-6s cells. brushed ones are nice but brushless might be little overcomplicated.
JMO: buying a brushed ESC from HK will not cost more than making ours.of course this is DIY stuff and interesting but talking moneywise it may not prove good.

rathikrishna

Pankaj..when we consider the aeromodel, weight is the matter..so we must go for SMD, and COB type things...here we are handling model boats and ships..whenever we think about an RC craft we thinks about a powerful motor and expensive stuffs...but none of my crafts are equiped with any kind of brushless motors, but still it flies over water, all in within 6 volts and 700 Mamps..i do not have any cutting edge stuffs with me..all my motors are reworked, toy motors..see an example here..this craft is powered by a reworked toy motor...for 6 volts..actually it as a 1.5 volt motor...now it runs on 3.6 volts..1200 ma battery pack..all along with toy RC...and see here ho fast and aggressive it is...and in cost wise..i can simply make a brushless from a CPU fan, all within 100/-Rs..but i do not need such stuffs as i can simply make crafts from ordinary reworked motors...far easy...no wire mess..and powerful..i will post a posting to make a brushless from a CPU fan...its too easy..and you need not any MOSFETs for it...just some simple PTs like MJE 3055 costs 12 Rs here...so see this...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKh6NGzlXJg   its my OPV all running in reworked toy motors and 3.6 volts...so must need a rethink...

pankaj

that's nice.

in the fan BLDC they use only one IC with 5-6 pins . i think everything is embedded on that .

i tried running fan motor using my 18amp esc and it copper fumes were all i got in my room.  ;D :giggle: :giggle:

rathikrishna

Pankaj.. i will post some stuffs here..to make a brushless from a CPU fan..and you need a 555 IC, along with CD 4020, WITH 4 OR 5 transistors...

A few my observation found over NET. Please correct me if I am wrong.

# The CPU fans are of two phase and CD ROM Drive motors are three phase (Star/Delta).
So, two phase drive is much easier, but torque pulsation is more than 3 phase.

# Again for an ESC, the incoming pulse from a professional Tx-Rx is
Max on is 10% (2mSec on 18mSec Off).

# The ESC makes +5 volt PS for receiver that can easily be done by 7805.

# The programming sound combination generation and to configure the ESC is little
bit complex and require Microcontroller perhaps, Just a guess.

A Eight channel Tx and Rx encoder and decoder circuit diagram is given here using CD4017, a decade counter IC, costs Rs.10/- , Amazingly simple. Just an Mono Transmitter & Receiver or you can say, an RF Link is required.

Perhaps this can do the trick.

This can be used with any Servo and ESC I Think.

Expert comments required.

Thanks,

We have to unite and to prove ourself to make indigenous products as well as marketing / Canvasing them. I'm sure we must achieve success if we try unitedly.

Hai Kalyan..we do not go to the extreame engineering side to run a brushless...we need only a signal from the TX..then all things ill be carried out by own circuits..wait i will post all here soon..time is the factor....
