Does anyone here have experience with using 18650 for Multirotors?

Which ones are the best in terms of performance?

18650 battery available in markets are B or C grade which will not suffice the need for multirotors. You need genuine A grade battery which you should buy from OEM. You need atleast battery with 20 to 30A discharge capacity such as Sony 18650 VTC5, VTC4, LG Chem HG2, Samsung INR18650-25R, LG Chem 18650 HB6. But you cannot assure that these battery will supply the demand of multirotors as the current demand is more.

I tried doing attempt with 18650 battery for multirotor for total weight of 2.8 kg with T-Motors and LG chem HG2 batteries. As per ecalc.ch calculation, result came good for 1 hour endurance. But one of my friend who is doing R&D in this told me 18650 batteries will not hold for multirotors. More current demand is damaging the batteries even though if you keep the current factor more than 2. So I stopped investing in this. But as per his result, 18650 is best for fixed wings as the current demand is 1/2 to 1/3 times than multirotors of same weight.

If you want to try, try for above mentioned batteries (A Grade) and share your result.

I believe it is not sold in India in bulk. All are getting in bulk order from dealers in Hongkong/ china. In amazon, I doubt the batteries are B/C grade. We have few options to buy. Else you have to take risk in buying it locally.
