Title: pls help with the motor to be used
Post by: saurabh sharma on February 13, 2015, 09:55:11 PM
i dnt know about the motor which could be used to generate torque such that a load of 30 kg can be rotated with it when the load is placed along its(motor's) axis. i have got avionic rcb 6i 2.4 ghz remote controller.

assuming one has such motor, what is that you are planning to build or make

@saurabh sharma,
Welcome to RCI.

But just look at your question. Is it well formulated?

If your load is say 2mm in dia and 1000mm in length, a small motor would do.
But if it is say 2mm in thickness and 1000mm in dia, its going to need a motor as large as a ceiling fan.
And you never even mentioned the rpm required!

And it has nothing to do with the remote control used.

Sir, bura na mano, thodi mehnat to karo...

Remember a few basics:

Power = Torque X RPM
Torque = Force X Distance

30 Kg at what radius? That radius is distance
Force is 30 Kgf
What RPM do you want to rotate it at? That is RPM.

You will thus derive motor power. Now see what RPM that motor works at - Electric motors are preferentially used to generate power at high RPMs for efficiency.

Based on that select a gearbox, with a suitable reduction ratio, and a rating exceeding the Motor Power

Easy as pie  :D :D

(Be careful of your units - to make it easy work throughout in MKS or CGS)

okay if you want to use BL motor get yourself a car BL-ESC or any suitable esc with forward and reverse and strong servo for steering.
