Title: Testing CF2805
Post by: vishwasvm on June 15, 2011, 10:04:54 AM
After I received the motor from Akky, my son- in his enthusiasm- connected it to one 3.7V 80mAh Lipo. He told me that the motor jirked whenever he connected the leads to the battery. I do not know exactly how long he kept it connected but may be a few seconds every time.

I was not sure if the motor can be safely operated without an ESC so I asked Akshay. Although he told me that there wont probably be any damage, I want to be sure. How to test the motor?? I have ESC, Batt but no Tx/Rx.

Please :help:

Thanks

Vishwas

you can ask any fellow aeromodeller to test it for you ....please note its high kv motor meant for 2S lipo and use a 30 amp esc to stay on the safer side....its a power hungry motor.....i am sure i wouldn't have got damaged  i had tested my first brushless motor which was a turnigy typhoon heli motor in the same way as your son had done with a 1050 mah 2 lipo for i dont know how many times....but still the my motor runs good
