quick questions guys

What are you guys using for the filler material. is it polyester putty ?
Also if instead of a paint finish, if I wanted a clear wood finish , what should I use .

thanks in advance

Viksi, its a nice effort..we can use any kind of putty to finish our crafts. but NC (nitro cellulose) based putty is not enough to fill big gaps.but if you use the PU (polyester putty) you can simply fill gaps in any size.and in my examination, the PU putty and Car body fillers are almost same, but differs in money. both are showing same characteristics, and smell too.we can use any paint to any putty surface, but my friend says me a PU based paint gives much better finish. but costs a lots.PU putty is very easy to sand out, start with 100 grit paper, then with 400 or 600 with water. some kits are not designed to go for a direct finish.means after laying out, there must be lots of gaps, strips and so on.so without a gap filling cant attain a clean finish.instead you can finish your craft with putty, and after smoothing it, can paint to depict the wooden surface.very easily. orange paint, with little black, will gives us a bare wood color. after whole painting you can dry brush some grow lines over surface gives a nice wooden surface. after drying can go for a clear varnish finish gives a glossy effect.
you can see here, is my craft, is showing the wooden door at first photograph. but it is made out of drawing paper, seasoned, and painted to depict the wooden spars..its easy and looks elegant..

have some nice builds.. :hatsoff:
