Note to the audience.

1.  This member joined the forum today.  Has absolutely no history here, and has not provided any external reference of history (like eBay etc).

2.  All this stuff is toy grade. Similar to what you see in malls and super markets. Please set your expectations accordingly.

Overall, I am in two minds as to whether we should allow this kind of sales to happen here.  Soon, this "RC" forum will be flooded with sellers hawking toy grade stuff, which would be an insult to true RC folks. I do not mean people who have and spend large sums on RC stuff, but people who can make the distinction between serious RC grade and toy grade stuff.

I couldn't agree more with you Anwar. This is against the grain of this wonderful forum

Thoughts from others ?  With the blame for too much commercial activity, I am more and more inclined to completely stop the sale of such stuff here.

An obvious question that arises then is who makes the distinction between RC and toy grade stuff.  We will just have to live with the decision of admins (with input from the audience/members) on this.

Although toy grade stuff has been put up for sale on the forum in the past, it has been posted by forum members who want to sell off their used stuff or by members who also sell RC stuff.
+1 considering this is a toy grade only sale by a member looking to contribute to the forum only as a seller of toy grade stuff.

being a father and uncle i have a recomendation here..

Toy grade RC stuff is really good for our kids and a good way to get their intrest from TV/Video games/etc etc to small sicence projects...
i have tried it with my nephew and it works great.


What if we make a section for toy grade stuff for sale, only on one condtion but they should be atleast 30--40% less than the market price.

we can use these cheap toys for gifting them to our kids and relatives.

While I agree with all that, this forum need not be a venue for these transactions.  We have enough sales threads already, and this class of items already have tons of direct exposure and marketing channels to customers.  There are 1000x more entities selling these compared to real RC stuff, so we will be flooded once they find fertile soil here ! And we certainly do not want to be "policing" whether someone is selling at 40% off or not, we can imagine how that will work out !

It is a question of weighing the pros and cons, and that too for the long term. I believe most serious RC forums already have such rules (implied or explicit).

+1. Anwar Bhai. Could't agree with you more. Already quality thread we are interested in following gets bumped down so fast that we have to search them out from our email links  .
