1) both the gums

3)cutter
ah..one other thing, trying to add a spoiler (Bang Bang) for roll control with you permission , it will fail, there ain't enough lift for riff raff in the glider..but then...what the heck ;D

Mr Vc i have received the package.
will open it tomorrow.
received and gifted, thanks Victor Charlie :salute:
Thanks all!
In response to a PM from Kartick @ Speedracer, I am attaching some old snaps for reference:
Query No.1 "What are the Silk Ribbons used for?" These pictures should be self explanatory.
Query No. 2 "What are the small wooden sticks used for?" They are used for increasing the contact area between the wing roots and the fuselage. Also for providing the correct angle to the main wings.
Perceived confusion between "Airfoil / Aerofoil" shape and "Dihedral"
can you post the pics of catapult also???
First make the Gliders and then we can make the catapult in 10 seconds flat! ;D
VC, school children are happy, they are thinking i cut them and designed them, told them it is victor charlie uncle.
Thanks WingCo - the thought makes me happy.

On which model?
If your chuck glider does not respond to rudder - its cg is usually too far forward
Chuck gliders usually respond better to a little up aileron - way to do this
is put some nitrocullose glue (quickfix or similar) on the trailing edge tip of the
desired wing. The trailing edge will curl towards the glue as it dries - do a
little at a time as its very effective.
:salute:
hey is it still available??
Yes stocks are available.
Mr VC I have some issues with the quality of hunter glider
Sorry but it wasn't possible for me to check each and every kit as they were sealed packets. If it can't be repaired, please send it back to me and I will replace it with a fresh piece. However, I take no guarantee for breakages in transit. I will try my best to wrap it in stiff cardboard and thermocole/bubble wrap.
Its already repaired
it'll work . i jus posted it to let you know the quality.
and I'll remit the amount today.
Thanks! I will take up the matter with the supplier and check the stocks immediately.
VC, you are responsible for children getting less marks in this exams, they are going crazy chucking gliders all o'er. Cartoon TV people are gunning for you, as you caused some TRP issues i guess. beware
Yay!!! That's exactly what I want to do - glean them away from the Idiot Box and the I Pod and Orkut / Facebook virtual reality.
Magpie/follow me glider is complete.
There seems to be a problem with the tail plane. Have you sanded the leading and trailing edges a bit too much? She is a beautiful flyer and this may spoil her flight characteristics. Check the picture of my glider in the earlier page of this thread.
For all beginners, the Magpie / Follow me is an accomplished design and can be assembled and flown with virtually no sanding at all. Even if you don't create an aerofoil shape and assemble the wings just as they are, she will still fly well. Just a light sanding to remove the roughness from the surfaces of all components is good enough.
yes while sanding one part of the tail broke off
so i just trimmed it.
can you post the build procedure for hunter glider.
i like the hunter too much and don't want to spoil it .
so a built\ assembly procedure will be really helpful.

Never ever 'trim' or cut away a part arbitrarily. What you should have done was joined it back with Quickfix, dried it for 8 to 10 hours and then sanded it flat. However, what is done, is done. Seeing the shape of your tailplane all I can suggest is this - Try flying her, if she nose dives, remove some weight from the nose. If all else fails, break away the tailplane and carve a new piece, using the plan supplied along with the kit, out of thin cardboard (visiting card material).
I am sorry, I don't have a Hunter build log. Let me see what I can do, if time permits. My Griffon 8100 Hovercraft build is killing me.
ok sir
Hey speedracer what information do you need?
I am confused about how to attach the wings as the cavity in the fuse is LONGER than the wings.
Well my glider kit had the cavity larger than the wing chord at root :)
Well you can either trim the wing to form a protrusion kinda thing which can fit into the slot or increase the cavity size. Either of the above requires same amount of accuracy i guess. I would suggest the latter as it will allow for a larger area of contact between the wing and the fuse for glueing.
Apart from the above problem make sure you sand the wing parts, join the two wing sections with the necessary dihedral then slide it into the slot and glue the wing to the fuse. So make sure the wing can slide into the cavity easily before glueing itself else sand wing/cavity appropriatly.
This link is for a normal glider. Hope it helps:
http://www.rcindia.org/beginners-zone/chuck-glider-build-log/
thankyou it'll do
If you are looking at the glider doing short flights and loops, slide the wing assembly to the front edge and then glue it. If you are looking at longer straight flights, slide the wing assembly to the rear and then glue it. I prefer the latter in the Hunter.
thats a really good tip thanks.
VC how does that help decide the duration/loops?
Is it because the glider becomes tail heavy when wing is shifted front - loops related?
I don't think that could cd the reason. when we shift the wings forward the plane should become nose heavy
I notice that there are a lot of 'guests' who are viewing this thread with a lot of interest. Come on Ladies and Gentlemen, log in to this community and we can talk business. I could disclose my email id and then you could contact me without being a member of RCINDIA.ORG - But then you will miss all the fun! It's a great community if you are REALLY interested in Aero / Heli / / Ship / Boat / Car/ Hovercraft / Train modelling and RC stuff. Come on - join up!
Sorry guys, I'm not thinking straight now with CA glue all over my right hand and styrofoam dust all over my face!!! Perhaps it has to do with the shifting of the CG.
Mr VC both the gliders are flying great.
will try to post a video tomorrow.
Sir i have a suggestion regarding the kit
you should include two full sheets of sandpaper as only 4 strips are not enough.
or 12 strips that is 2 strips each of both the sandpapers .
also i would like to share my new purchase a catapult.
Two full strips are included in the original box. You wanted some items to be removed and adjusted, that is what probably created the confusion. My assistant must have messed up. My apologies.
What i ment to say is that 12 strips of that length should be included
i bought 1sheet of each of 80 no ,120 no and 400 no for Rs35 that is what all required.
my hunter glider is complete
Congrats!
BTW, in post no. 67, when I said "Two full strips are included in the original box", I actually meant "two full sheets" as shown in the picture. Also please see the first post in this thread.
Thanks.
ok sir
my home made knuckle dusters
my home made knuckle dusters
How is this connected to Balsa gliders OR RC?
Its just for fun
please see the album to know how it is related to wood
http://www.flickr.com/photos/59226892@N07/5425575810/
Incidentally, you could get arrested for posting that picture on a public forum. If I am not mistaken, a knuckle duster is deemed an 'illegal weapon' in India and most parts of the world.
I am not the Administrator or the Moderator, but may I take the liberty of requesting you not to contaminate the continuity of a thread by posting such entries here?
If the authorities permit, please post it under 'Chatter Zone', I guess.
Cheers!
Its illegal if i use it for fighting someone. here its just a show piece made up of light aluminium.
Barely a piece for showing !!!!!
Request to mod/ admin please delete if found offensive or split it , thanks
