Hello, need a little help on how you got it printed? Which file did you use? How much did it cost you? And, since you have handled it, is it strong enough for emax 2212 motors? Your reply will be much appreciated. I guess many here would want to get a cheap foldable frame.

Regards,
Dipanjan

Hey Dipanjan,

I used the Mavic Clone v4.1 F3 files from the download section at diyrc.co.uk

I own a Desktop based 3d printer for hobby purposes. Printed the Frame using PETG Filament, PETG is supposed to be stronger, flexible and much more durable than PLA. It is costlier as well. Am approximating though that the entire print cost wouldn't have been more than 750-1000.
I have just entered the quadcopter space and don't have much experience. I needed things to print on my 3d printer so i first went ahead with the PEON230 from thingiverse. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:629338
Printed it and installed my electronics but am struggling to get it in the air, i mean it takes off and flies into the sky but i dont have a clue how to control it and get it back. always disarm it while its in midair and it comes crashing down breaking a few arms.
Always have been in awe with the original DJI Mavic Pro so downloaded this clone from diyrc. Left the project midway as i dont think i would be able to give it time and am losing patience.
The forums on diyrc discuss that the emax 2212 is a perfect fit and will work well with this frame. The frame has a provision to install a SONAR sensor as well as a GPS module. The folding mechanism of the frame seemed to be perfect.

I also need help on flying my PEON 230, help and advice would be grateful.

Thank You,

If you are too new then I would suggest Furibee f36 > Eachine H8 mini > Syma X5c > brushless motor quads.

you can fall and break these small quads and wont cost you much when learning.

xplosifly

Hi There Nischal,

Actually have already bought a lot of electronics and stuff to complete two quads. Just dont know how to fly... The hobby is impulsive.

This is the list of parts that i have:
A set of Racerstar BR2205 2600KV Motors
A set of Racerstar BR2204 2300KV Motors
Racerstar 4 in 1 ESC - 2 Units
Omnibus F3 AIO ESC
Omnibus F4 AIO ESC
FS-i6 modded to 10 ch
QAV250 Frame
Blackout FT250 Frame
Runcam Swift 2
Eachine EV800D
TBS Video Transmitter
TBS Stubby antaena

I had used the F3 without fpv setup in the Peon 230 3d printed frame but keep crashing it as i just need to learn or rather need someone in or around mumbai to help me figure out if all the wiring and the config i have done in betaflight is correct.
Also planning to get my hands on a simulator. could you suggest a good one?

HI @xplosifly

I understand that you got a lot of stuff and are eager and impulsive but if you are new to flying quads my only suggestion is to start from basic small one, you can assemble the stuff you purchased on the the frame meanwhile, in a few months, you will be fine to fly your newly assembled quad

xplosifly

Thanks Nischal,

It makes sense. Am gonna order a basic RTF and learn on it and crash with it before I start on these.

Thanks.

@xplosify, build a tbs discovery with naza. Simple enough, easy setup and later you can add a front facing gimbal.
