Hi Guys,

I have an old TX Lipo for sale.

Brand - GE Power - 11.1V 2200mah 8C

This fits in a Futaba 6EXA perfectly & will fit any transmitter which uses 8 AA Batteries. Reason for selling - Its just lying around and used only a couple of times.

I think one of the cell will die soon but for a TX even a 2 cell with such a configuration won't be a problem. That's what I think.. 8-)

Price - No idea what to quote for this item.  :giggle: Open to prices but please no cheap bids.. :salute:

Cheers

Atul..

8AA batteries translates to 12v.  So you really need a 3s lipo.  If one cell is shaky, one should absolutely avoid using it, specifically in a TX situation.  If the voltage suddenly drops below the TX cut off (a little below 9v), the transmitter will shut off and the model will go out of control !

Better not to use it.  Sorry Atul ! Better than someone else running into trouble !

PS: If you are up to it you can convert it to 2s using the good cells, and use it as an RX lipo with a regulator (after good testing on the ground!).

No problem at all Anwar..

I guess then you can then delete this thread..Its better not to use it instead of losing a lovely plane

Actually one cell shows as 3.65 and the other as 3.60 and the third as 2.45..

Is it possible for me to save this cell ? I was thinking of trying to balance charge it..

You can try trickle charging (set the charger in NiCD mode, and charge with 0.2A or so, very small current).  Watch the voltage while you do it.  Once that low cell gets over 2.9v or so, regular balance charging can work.  If this works, try discharing and charging couple of times, to see the the charge is holding well, the use it only afterwords.
