Hi everyone,

Request inputs for future contests.

Background:
1. My attempts at getting someone to do a 10 sec failed over many years despite a Rs 1000 prize.
2. After 3-4 years, when I raised the prize to Rs 5000, the target was achieved within 24 hours.
(By Imperial fire, with a paper plane!

I wonder whether:
1. A high(er) prize money incentive is required ?
2. A token prize would suffice ?

The Lunchbox contest attracted 9 entries, but only 4 put up flight videos, despite 2 extensions of closing date.

So for 5 entrants, the entry fee of Rs 250 was effectively wasted.

Ideally, the entry fee should be NIL, at the most Rs 100.
Then how to fund prize money?
Unless the prize is a token gift by the contest organiser or well wishers.

Grateful for suggestions

Regards

Usually the postal contest are to create excitement and the winner gets bragging rights. Not seen cash or trophy being mailed out.

In my opinion, money is not the motivator as they are just wanting to learn something new.  As recently experienced they really get into it and want to excel.

What are the chances of getting a sponsor for token, but well worth prizes,  like say a box of X-acto  knives and a dozen blades, a rubber winder, etc.

Here is an example of a recent postal event for all under 18, sponsored by a start-up company :
