This forum will be 4 years old on 9th March (that is the date the domain was registered!).  In an effort to thank all the members who are active on this forum, we will be having another sweepstakes for a Futaba 7C radio system.  It is a used one, but works great.  The only issue is that the charger is 110V (US standard), so the winner will need to get a 220V to 110V convertor (which was less than Rs.50 last time I checked).

The rules of the sweepstakes is simple.  It is not just a random draw from people who post on the forum, but this time we want to promote the builders amongst us :)  So you have to build or assemble a new RC plane/heli/car/boat/multirotor/etc between today and April 7th, to be eligible.  To confirm that the build is recent, you have to take pictures videos that has identifying information in the pictures (like current newspaper as background, or TV news in videos).  A few of these is needed to show the progress of the build, if the build spans multiple days.  Assembling an ARF or heli is just fine, but it has to be something that you start putting together from scratch.

Once you are done, please post a link to your build/assemble thread in this thread, to demonstrate your interest in taking part in this sweepstakes.

Additional Note 1:  Anyone who does a scratch/plan build of airplanes will be listed thrice in the list from which the draw will be done. That will increase his chances of winning.

Additional Note 2:  The deadline date for submission of build thread is extended to April 7th, and winners will be announced on April 9th.

Additional Note 3:  With the generous donations from members, we will have 3 sets of prices instead of just the 7C.  Please see later in the thread for details.

Wonderful, Anwar! Who is the generous donor?

It came out of funds from the Google Ads on this site.  So self paid.  Did not make enough to buy a new one :giggle:

Absolutely, your creation is one of a kind, and qualifies for automatic admission ;)  But please do express your interest (if any) towards early march by posting current status of the project on this thread.

I thought I made it clear that even putting together ARFs are just fine.  So pre-cut depron definitely qualifies.

What does not qualify is taking wings off a Sky Surfer, and putting it back together :giggle:

It has to be significant :)

The idea was to kick people into building something new.  I allowed Girish's project as an exception, because that is what it is... it is a wonderful/worthwhile exception.

PS: Please avoid the "sir" part.  "Anwar" alone is great, and "bhai" is fine too.

Anwar bhai, many thanks...
To remove ambiguity,  I will start from scratch, on a beefier one this time.

The rewards are exciting and much more exciting is to be doing this for the community

Whow, Grate effort. Next year, we have to give chalk and slate for 5 YEARS.
4 is the tricky no. 2+2 and 2x2 gives 4. So, this year is the solving problem year,

Joking.
We have to unite and to prove ourself to make indigenous products as well as marketing / Canvasing them. I'm sure we must achieve success if we try unitedly.

Anwar bhai, I will surely post the status on this thread about early march.

PS: Many thanks Gusty sir for the PS. He is already glued to the sim, and looking at his 'supposedly acrobatic' performance on the sim, I don't dare bringing anything real close to him...And he thinks a field is to play, not to fly planes...

Awww, I have a balsa/ply Big Stick (no plans :) only instruction sheet) but I don't think I can complete it in time. Half my build time goes in repair

I do have a FunCub ARF which I can complete though

What a wonderful initiative....thanks Anwar and LHS (this means other LHS are awaited to put in their bit  ;D)

QuoteSo you have to build or assemble a new RC plane/heli/car/boat/multirotor/etc between today and March 8th, to be eligible.

What is the criteria for completion? Does the model have to be ready for take-off?

Great....
trying to build one scratch build .... try to finish before due date.  ;)

If anyone does more than one scratch build will he be listed Nx3 times in the list for sweepstakes?  ;D

arun.sreelakam

Anwar bhai one more doubt...? making 2 scratch builds from one member make any difference in counting him?  >:D >:D >:D
