What can be a suitable alternative to a Newspaper for the date formalities?

If you can show the "Recent Posts" list on the top of RC India on a suitable device (smartphone or pad) kept near the model, and the screen itself being legible enough to make the dates readable without any ambiguity, that would suffice too.

Anwar sir,
scratch-built hovercrafts, ornithopters and bikes are eligible too as long as they are radio controlled, right?
Just to make sure. (Not that anyone has a chance against Iyyer sirs' air squadron!)

There will be another :Rs: 12,000 price for someone who is below 19 years of age. That is, people who are have not celebrated their 19th birthday yet as on May 15, 2014.  This price was sponsored by a forum member who prefers to remain anonymous for the sum of 10K, and the the owner of RCForAll added 2K to it as the winner will be shopping from this store.

The money has already been transferred by the sponsor to the store, and it is waiting for the winner :)  The youngsters should all build multiple models to maximize their chances to win !

Thank you both.

Quick question : Are DIY multirotor builds allowed ? DO they also get 5x chances , like airplanes ?

anwar

What exactly is "DIY" for quads ?  Are you going to solder the board ?  If not, it is like an ARF build, and the initial post in this thread should apply.

Dear Admin,
I put in my thread of the "1:24 MAN crawler" but I put the heading as "can it be considered for the sweepstakes" could I change that to "5th anniversary sweepstakes entry"
Please let me know.

By DIY, I did not refer to doing the control board. No one builds recievers or servos for airplanes anyways.

A DIY multi rotor would be where no readymade arms, or central frame is used. Where one designs a frame himself, cuts it out  to assemble.

In my opinion a ARF multi rotor is when someone buys a kit from HK , or perhaps the arms and the board, and bolts it all together.

A DIY build would be if someone uses Wooden sticks, or aluminum, or CF arms, and cuts out the frame himself to make it all work and fly.

Let me know if something like this would be acceptable.

anwar

This is exactly why I asked :)

Building a frame alone, especially for a quad is not that involved (having done that myself, just dremel out half the thickness of centre portion of two balsa sticks... is one way), so a 5x multiple seems to be unfair to others.

We can do more than 1x multiple depending on the effort.  Plus the reward is always the work itself, as you know very well :)

@Anwar
Planning to build a RC Skydiver. For The sweepstakes I will be testing it by releasing it from a tall building, say 13th floor, and not from a rc plane. The RC Skydiver will need lots of tuning of the angle of attack of the parachute before it can jump off the RC Plane. Secondly it will need a drop plane and a pilot for the drop plane -another big project and building a team to pull it through. Is this OK and fit into the rules?

Bump for the part quoted above ! Hope more youngsters take up the challenge and put the old timers to shame with their creations :)

I have people contacting me about the number of entries they can make.  I thought that is clear from point #3 on the original post, that multiple entries (as many as one can) are acceptable (even preferred). And your chances increase too.

Didn't realise that UNBOXING is an activity.
Presumably has some minor weightage in sweepstakes.

I am under 19 ( I am 16 years old) . Please count me in under 19 category. I cannot compete with legends like Sanjay sir Iyer sir and VC sir. :banghead: :giggle:

Are you going to build a plane that moves in water, or a car that flies or a boat that moves on land ?

Absolutely not.  What is the point in doing all this otherwise ?

No, I mean to say that a beginner must have electronics in order to fly his plane. He can show his airplanes like arfs without electronics. Opon winning the sweepstakes he can install electronics and fly the plane merrily.

I am building a chuck glider.
