Dear all -
Due to popular demand, and the guilt of some money that came in from Google Adwords, we will have another one of those fun sweepstakes. The rules will be similar to last year.
We will have two winners this time also. The price is going to be two Indian Rupees 20,000 shopping sprees, at any hobby store of the winner's choice. The money will be sent directly to the chosen shop. Due to logistics issues, no split shopping please !
The prize money is coming out of the payments from Google Adsense ads on top of the RC India, so it is self paid.
The general conditions are :
1. The build and maiden should between 12th June 2015 and 7th September 2015 (10am deadline).
2. This has to be a new build clearly documented by newspapers placed near the starting off material for the build. Please post multiple pictures allowing us to clearly authenticate the date claims (at least couple of pics with the items and newspaper, with the newspaper placed at multiple locations amongst the parts, and one with the date information on the news paper clearly shown). We will consider partial builds at very early stages, on a case by case basis (so that this sweepstakes act as a catalyst for people to finish those builds).
3. Each submission should be presented as a NEW build thread in the appropriate board, with the tag that this is a candidate entry into the sweepstakes. Topic names shall start with some thing like "RCI 6th Sweepstakes : ".
4. Periodic / intermediate stage pics should be posted, again with newspaper verification, at least 3 times during the course of the entire build.
5. The final product should do its intended purpose, with reasonable stability. That means aircrafts should fly, cars should run, etc. This must be supported by video evidence, with a single continuous shot of the model in closeup first, and then moving into action / flight.
Judging etc :
6. ARF builds of airplanes, boats and quads will get 1x chance to win. I am not aware of ARF build for cars, so that is out (correct me if I am wrong).
7. Kit builds of helis and cars will get 3x chances to win.
8. Scratch/kit builds of airplanes and boats will get 5x chances to win.
9. If you are building something exquisite that does not fit into any of the above, they will be considered as they are raised, and we will update this post to list those.
10. We may adjust the chance multipliers based on the merits of each build, if we strongly feel the need for that.
11. Although people suggested using a voting system to find the winners, I see multiple problems with it. For now, let us keep this simple. It will also allow every member except me to participate.
12. The models have to be radio controlled, but they can unpowered (like slope soaring gliders). No static models, and if you are submitting multiple entires, the models have to be dissimilar.
Let the 6th annual RCIndia games begin ! (tribute to Hunger Games!)
[Update 14/Jun/2015 : Contest for non-powered flight
[Update 13/Aug/2015 : Contest extended till 7th September
In the 6th Sweepstakes we are including a small 'contest for non-powered flight' suggested and paid for by a member. The rules are simple:
1. The objective is to achieve a 1 minute duration flight.
2. Model must be unpowered, ie no engine, no motor, no edf, no rocket/jetex. However, rubber power is allowed.
3. Must be scratch built, ie no RTF, no ARF, no Kit. Start by capturing pictures of the material you are starting with, alongside a newspaper for verification.
4. No restriction on size or weight or materials used.
5. Flight may be performed outdoors or indoor.
6. Take off/launch and landing must be at about same level, ie, flight from a rooftop to ground not acceptable.
7. Our usual sweepstakes rules apply. Especially proof of build and continuous video from launch to landing.
This is aimed mainly at those new to the hobby and hence not yet having a radio set. However, a radio controlled model is eligible.
Remember it is not a competition against each other, rather an attempt to achieve a set goal.
There is a token prize of Rs 1000 worth of goods from LHS of your choice, for each of the first five successful entries received. That is Rs1000 each going to 5 different people (which also implies the same person cannot win twice!).
Please follow the rules diligently. We had quite a bit of dilemma last time !
The fun begins. Happy building.
@anwar,
Thanks for starting the 2016 Sweepstakes.
Request a category for non RC Models please.
No prize, but eligible for Honourable Mention / Consolation!
Some RCI members do fly non RC models too (i hope)
Please see my pm too.
Regards.
Let the games begin ;D
Thank you anwar sir for having another sweet sweepstakes.
Hope to see great builds this time too
Bring it on!!!
This time I'm in full swing.
Hopefully 2-3 good ones will come from my side...
P.S. Are last year's winners eligible?
That's nice
Waiting for some exciting posts and builds
Best of luck for those of you making
All the very best to the participants.
15th june to 15th August is ample time and Good opportunity for me to start and complete many of my dream projects.
Let the games begin
What does this mean? "and if you are submitting multiple entires, the models have to be dissimilar. "
Topalle, you want to propose a rule that previous winners cannot participate?

Absolutely eligible, why not ?
Do they feel invincible ? ;D

Don't cut the same plan 3 times and build 3 planes that look the same. Don't take apart an ARF or car, and put it together again. And so on :)
😂😂😂 Only one foam fighter jets per entry Anwar 😉😉😉😆😆

Yes, They are Invincible... Especially Sanjay Sir... We can't catch up with their speed.
If possible, divide the prizes into two categories: Veterans and Beginners.
It is just a mind-set ;)
Plus this is why this was never made a competition. It is just a trigger to get more active in RC, the winning part is strictly in the hands of http://random.org !
Hello Anwar,
A few like me get very very less time to this hobby actually I still have models which I started in last year Sweepstakes and the progress in close to negligible.
Can I continue with the same this year as well. 8-)
regds
Saurabh
this sounds good... i am in :D...
@rastsaurabh,
If you don't mind, may mention an analogy?
"I have no money for a new lottery ticket, so can i use last year's ticket?"
Answer: sure i can. Only it wont win me anything!
If Anwar sir is serious about random.org (Which i doubt) then you don't even have to build anything, just register for the sweepstakes, that's all.
I guess participation is optional, time and money permitting, not mandatory.
As Anwar sir has said before, the objective is to promote a spurt of activity (which is exactly what happened last year)
If our over 10000 members build more than 492 models in two months, the objective would be achieved.
(Why 492?. It is without counting sanjayrai sir, who can produce the remaining 8 in eight weeks ;D)
Anwar sir while putting up build logs do we have to post as the build progresses or can we complete the whole build and document with newspapers for verification, fly it and post video at once???
Also is every entry add up the chance of winning? So if one person has 3 diffrent scratchbuilds theb do they have 15x chance of winning?

I am absolutely serious about random.org. What I do is make a list of all eligible entries in Excel (I sought help on this part last time from other admins), duplicate the ones which qualified for multipliers (so a 3x multiplier would have 3 entries/lines in Excel), assign serial numbers to all of them. So 50 people participating may end up as 120 lines in Excel (because of chance multipliers). Then I open up random.org and call my son, ask him to pick a number between 5 and 10. On random.org, I generate numbers between 1 and 120 as many times as my son responded and take the last one... that is the winning entry.

Please read the instructions. Everything you sought clarification on so far is mentioned there. If you still feel there is ambiguity, please ask.
The only question that needs answered is "can you continue a previous build". The answer is NO. While the pain is understandable, we need to ensure a level playing field with everyone starting DOCUMENTED builds after the contest is announced.
To help everyone understand the rules clearly, I have made some parts of the original post bold.
As Anwar sir said somewhere earlier, this is not a competition
Its a sweepstakes.
Everyone has a chance.
But someone who submits 5 scratchbuilds has 25 times more chance than someone who submits one ARF.
(Provide they fly as intended ;D)
So let's start building.
At least 492.
If we can cross 65000 builds, we can crash Anwar sir's Excel sheet!
Even though the selection was random, were last year's winners not deserving?
I guess there is too much interest in the prizes. Janta - focus on the reason behind the sweepstakes - to get people building. Become a more complete aeromodeller and a better flier or RCer this way. Forget about the prizes - what is due to you will come to you inevitably
Wouldn't a competition be better than a lottery ? :headscratch:
I think you should trust the judges. They do take into consideration the complexity and quality of build too - it's not entirely a lottery. Although it would be great if there was judging purely on that basis, it would take away from the objective - maximum number of people build; everyone gets a chance.
It's sad that I won't be able to participate in the sweepstakes because of exams ... :banghead:
best of luck guys
Last time, I couldn't participate due to the same reason...
Don't lose hope... you have next year...

Deep inside my mind, I want newcomers to win. Not veterans with mucho skills aided by disposable income.
The way the sweepstakes are designed allows the disadvantaged a fair chance (thus in line with my ulterior motive).
The only thing we INSIST on is that the rules are followed at every stage. The builds have to be documented from the beginning to end with newspaper dates multiple times, and the maiden video should clearly show the article in rest, going into motion and staying in motion in a single continuous shot.
Basically, we want to see FAIRNESS in the entries. Please spare us from having to second guess the authenticity of anything !
This is absolutely great.
Finally a sweepstake I can participate in.
Though its sad that a multirotor will only get a single entry :/
Anyway, thank you for the great opportunity Anwar Sir.
:D
Dear Sanjay Rai / Anwar
In no way was I questioning the judges.... or doubt the authenticity of anything.
My point is that a lottery system would deter people from doing something creative.....
Let's say If a person were to make scratch builds.... he would put in more effort (or at least be tempted) to make more number of different planes of average (or even poor) build quality, just to increase his chance in the draw.......... rather than making one build of very good quality (that would bring out the talent in him).
I agree that participation needs to be increased....... but we also need to encourage creative thinking.... and come up with new ideas.
P.S. Maybe, you could think of organizing a competition also in the future...
+1 to prasad.chodankar
Prasad, I think you need to have more confidence in the management of the sweepstakes. Have a detailed look at how last years went. If you put your heart into it, there will be rewards. If you participate only for the prize, you will lose every which way

It is quite startling to me is that money is the real motivator for creativity ;) I thought it was mostly human nature.
The creativity and competition we want is for people to scratch build instead of putting together ARFs. There is enough incentive here for the same. If anything, a full balsa scratch build should have a 10x multiplier, similarly if you soldered a quad controller from scratch. Other than that, we seem to be have the right mix of competition and possibility for everyone.
Plus the logistics of doing a proper competition over the internet would get quite interesting. It is easy to throw ideas out there, but taking responsibility for fairness is not easy when the entire business is conducted online.
+1 Anwar bhai. Well said indeed. Increased participation, development and promotion of the hobby - these are worthy goals, not monetary rewards.
The essence of the competition is trust - who can check whether someone gets their model made by a professional or other?
+1 to both Anwar sir and sanjay sir
Administrator - Request that the Sweepstakes be opened from midnight tonight. Reason - tomorrow (14th June) is a Sunday, so some work can commence ;D ;D
Original post updated to include the weekend ;)
Waise bhi... chotee chotee guthakiyaan maaf ho !
So can we start a new thread for sweepstakes now? ???
And is there under 19 age category this time?
Thank you sir

Sad that there is no under 19 category. . Well anyways I am not participating :'( :'( >:( :banghead:

I was planning to build tri copter but now i will built that as my entry to sweepstake. I am not aiming for any prize money just for fun i am participating :)
All the best to everyone and have fun in building and flying.

Please post. There is not enough information to give you any kind of informed response. There will be reviews of all entries at the end by multiple people, and decisions will be taken on the merits of each case.
Overall, in terms of guidelines, we want to see clean fresh builds.

Sorry sir but I think that 1 min with a rubber band or something like that is highly improbable ... I was trying for an ornithopter but I don't know or just frame it like this ..I am not sure that it will fly for long
@darshan check out this guys channel ...

The models and flying is just beautiful.. <3
I remember about 45 years ago I built a Mercury model from a kit from Indias Hobby Centre. About 50~60" span, it was a rubber-powered sailplane. Flights of 10 minutes plus were not unusual if it caught a thermal! The rubber motor was basically to gain height.
One unique aspect was the prop. You carved out half a prop from a block of balsa, and the other side was a wire, on which you added lead weights for balance :o
Building and, especially, trimming these models is not only a science but a great Art, which a certain elderly, distinguished and knowledgeable gentleman on the forum, well versed with this Art, wishes to preserve so it does not die out like so many other beautiful artifacts and art.
Good morning ....
i want to paticipate in this sweepstake but
I have a problem uploading images on the website.....
They simply do not get uploaded.......
what do i do???
My entry: http://www.rcindia.org/multirotors/rci-6th-sweepstakes-tricopter-build/
Timing of the Sweepstakes this year with monsoon clouds looming overhead is deterring me to start my entry of a balsa Spitfire. I know by the time I finish it Hoskote flying field would be inaccessible.
While the objective is to spur construction activity on the forum the rules are skewed against complex builds but more towards numbers. Maybe next year Mr Anwar may decide giving multipliers for complexity and for trying new techniques and models. Also a better timing of the Sweepstakes when flying fields are available for the maiden across different parts of the country is desirable.
Nevertheless, the Sweepstakes are a great driver of RC activity. Many thanks to Mr Anwar and RCIndia

Could I suggest maybe we have a panel who can rate the models depending on their complexity? Would help to deter that one dude who'll build 50 nutballs :P ( if no, then I'm making 50 nutballs Hue Hue Hue >:))

That does not provide a lot of information. What error do you see ? Does the browser just get stuck ? Have you tried alternate browsers ?
What is the size of images you are submitting ? Make sure they are not too big (large size actually does not add any value to the content!). See http://www.rcindia.org/free-donations-and-sweepstakes/rc-india-4th-anniversary-sweepstakes/msg132746/#msg132746
Basically we need more information to try to help you.

I didn't see that rule haha :)
Hey,
I checked the size of the img....
its 3 mb....
arent there any under 18 category anwar sir??
It would be nice to have that.. :D
Under 18.... hmmm... thinking..... :headscratch:
Wouldn't they already have a fair chance to win the existing prizes... and so would they need a separate category ?
I don't think we need under 18, that would be greed.
If under 18's need a category, so do over 60s.
That means sanjayrai55, ashok baijal and me.
Since the first two are already disqualified by virtue of being past winners,
I am therefore the only one who qualifies.
Hence strongly recommend a senior citizen category ;D
Any other potential claimants requested to produce birth certificate, school leaving certificate, voter id card, aadhar card, passport etc in triplicate along with police verification and WPC approval etc...
Saving up my builds to post under new category...

Have a detailed look at how last years went.
Dear Sanjay Rai....
Went through last year's sweepstakes thread in detail just now. I knew that you won last year, but I was not aware that you had put in 6 entries. Now I understand why you had to reply to my comment in such an agitated way......
You had done exactly what I had written about.
Now please give me an frank reply........ if it were a real competition, would you have churned out n number of models (in a short period).... or would you have made just one or two really very stunning or intricate models, which nobody else could have made ?
And I am not talking about anything monetary or the way it is judged.
Mr. Chodankar,
How dare you cast aspersions on my honour, reputation, ethics and love of the hobby?
Who are you to conclude such a thing?
What are your qualifications, what is your status to judge my builds? I trust the judges, not you, sir.
In your self-centred obduracy to enter the sweepstakes solely for the purpose of prize money, you have lost all sense of propriety and made an unwarranted personal attack. This despite being explained multiple times what the sweepstakes is about, including by the founder/administrator of this forum.
It takes a lifetime to build up a reputation, and I will not let some half-baked half-witted comment made from a proverbial case of sour grapes interfere with mine. I have worked in 5 different countries, been the M.D. of a 1000 crore plus company, been the CEO of an American Company, am a grad of IIT Bombay - no sir.......there is no way you are going to slander me!
I demand an apology and a withdrawal of your comment - immediately.
As this is a public forum, Mr. Chodankar is at liberty to go through all my builds of the last 2 years since I re-entered the hobby, and feel free to judge (only for himself - his opinion is not valued) whether
Building skills have been progressive
Frequency of builds is consistent
There is no point in asking him if the quality of the Sweepstakes entry's builds is at par, as he has already drawn a unilateral conclusion, possibly as a vested interest
Bigger the build more the points will this happen this time??
Abhay, the rules are pretty clear. It does not say anything on this - size doesn't matter ( :giggle:)
Scratch builds get highest weightage on points.
but the person who is building large scale model can use same time n money in building 4 or 5 smaller models
Hey...
i am building an powered glider (scratch)
But i am only 14 and was eager to know if there was a under 18 category,
If there isnt,i am happy to participate with the other hobbyists who are above
18....
Aah, Abhay. The majority of this post is about the purpose behind the sweepstakes. They are not designed as a contest for the biggest, the most beautiful, the most complex, nor are they a race for a prize; rather they are to encourage and increase model building activity among the members, and to give an incentive to those who don't build to start
I agree with you sanjay sir.......
agree hona to thik hai, but prize ke liye hi to aap sab participate kar rahe hai, anyway young ppl swepstakes ke chakkar me naa apna time mat waste karo , instead focus on acads , or your any work or hobby you are good at.according to me prize last time ki tarah hi ye apne me distribut kar lenge. kyu time waste kar rahe ho

Care to explain this? What are you trying to say? That the contest was rigged, the winners and judges were together hand-in-glove?
thats what i am saying...
he cant just go on saying whatever he likes.....
@akshay550, if you can churn out a half decent model that meets the requirements of the sweeps, with or without help from the same members of this forum who you're critical of, I'm confident loads of guys (including myself) on this forum would be glad to give you a prize off their own pockets. That is the kind of trust, and energy we've instilled for this hobby, this forum, sweepstakes and the judges.
So are you going to make something for the sweeps or live with your accusations? Decide for yourself
To aap log prize me liye aeromodelling me interested hai naki aermodelling me. I was devastated seeing the results of 2014. Ppl just 'assembling' parts were winner, rather than those creating . any way that's my viewpoint.
@girisharwal I left flying planes when I was in 8th class. Readymade chiz to koi bhi uda lega. Since i left work on them.
But one thing was well said by our senior members - if you can make scratch things fly its a prize for your self.
to aap ye suniye:
we are interested in aeromodelling from the years before...
even if this was just a sweepstake without a prize, we would participate.
I always build planes by my self....
If you visit my house, you wont find any plane that is rtf or pnf or arf i always build from scratch because that gives a new feeling... This sweepstake is to encourage people to stay in the beautiful hobby and keep scratchbuilding..
This is true:
"if you can make scratch things fly its a prize for your self."
You think that: "Readymade chiz to koi bhi uda lega"
go then share me a video of you flying a scale fokker dv2 or a bleriot....
I was also a winner of last year sweepstakes. I can assure everyone that there was no collusion or rigging. In fact my entry of Fokker DRVII was my first build on RCIndia. If you go through the build thread and say it was not a fit entry for consideration for a prize, I will refund the prize money and it can be given to guys who have a doubt. It is not the money that matters, but the joy of winning. Incidently I have put in more years in this hobby than the age of most of the members.. Same stands for Sanjay. We participated not for the money but to set benchmarks for youngsters to start building quality models.Since one forum member had posted that previous year winners should not be eligible, I was taken aback. In real life can competition be just wished away.
TO akshay:
aur agar apne ready made plane tod diya jo 13 ya 14 hagar ka nuksan hoga lekin agar apne ek scratch build to giraya to bas electronic nikalo aur 700 rupye me naya plane bana ke udao...
THERE ARE HARDLY ANY OF US WHO FLY ALL READYMADES...
WE SCRATCH BUILD
Quoteif you can make scratch things fly its a prize for your self.
Point established well. Good to see the spark, so what are you making for these sweeps? Nothing is rigged here.
Go makers... wishing loads momentum to all participants.
thanks...
I am making a ft simple soarer/mustang/duster and one small 3d plane.....
best of luck to you and everybody....
clear skies to ya!!
Cooling period.... Two members have been banned temporarily for 1 day for excessive use of non-English posts.
To the above discussion, note these....
1. The "competition" (if any) is to JUST make people BUILD. There is some added incentive to doing scratch build. This is NOT about innovation ! There are ton's of college competitions where you can go do that.
2. Whether you agree with me or not, I want someone who started yesterday to have the almost the same chances of winning as someone who has started doing this before I was born.
3. Building more models does NOT guarantee winning, as Mr. Prasad seems to suggest. It does increase the odds of winning.
4. The biggest hole in Mr. Prasad's vision is this. Say we make this a "innovation/perfection competition". What will happen is that 2 or 3 master builders will start posting builds which are out of this world, at which point everyone else (especially newcomers) will conclude that there is no point in participating. That is exactly what I do NOT want to see happen !
5. As for akshay550, he just seems to need a bit of introspection. Knowing nothing about the person, I may be over judgmental here for which I apologize in advance ! The issue seems to be the inability to handle failures or missed opportunities, which I am sure is a skill everyone achieves somewhere along the way in the journey of life. So let us stop discussing this, as I am 100% sure about the fairness of what I intended and achieved last time, which I am keen to replicate this time also.
6. I agree with Mr Prasad that an innovation competition would help bring out higher quality results. Such competitions are also needed for the betterment of this hobby. I am not convinced that doing it as an online activity is the way to do it, and RCI may not be the right platform for something like this. It needs to be an on the ground activity with bigger prizes, a very good jury, and probably conducted by some entity like AMAI or an LHS.
Let us get back to what matters, which is to start building...
Correctly said Mr Amwar. Lets all get down building - simple or complex, slowly or at break neck speed. Just build what you love to build and share your joy of building with the RCI community. Currently I am in the process of cleaning and rearranging my little hobby room/space after months of neglect. Once complete, I will be building a model I would love to build. I know I will not be able to maiden it by 15th Aug and therfore not qualify for the sweepstakes. But surely I will start the build and post the details as I go along. And yes, I have a few unfinished projects which were stuck up since last year and need to be completed.
So guys, gear up and show your passion for the hobby rather than squabble over prize money.
Hello Guys .....
I love this hobby..... but not getting enough time to participate in this year Sweeps....
Anwar I still have the Futaba 7c ( perfectly working condition ) from 2014 Sweeps.
Just wanted to let you guys know I am still doing scratch building and flying, though not too active on the forum.
All the best to all scratchies.
Absolutely, Anwar bhai
Surabh - stop eating. You will save enough time for modelling
Sir,
Thanks for morale boosting. But that much time is too less to make models which fly.
It seems like my intentions were misunderstood by Mr Rai. I only meant to point out two things.
1. A competition brings out better builds
2. More number of builds (with or without attention to perfection) does result in improved chances of winning, but in no way guarantees it.
As some one with deep concern for the need for innovation in our country, I was only trying to point out the need for possibly a separate "innovation" type of competition. I felt RC India would be a good platform for it. But seeing some responses, that may not be true. In any case, this is all I meant.
Perhaps pioneers do what they think best for the hobby.
1. 40-50 years ago, one Mr Suresh Kumar, owner of India Hobby Centre, used to preside over SMAE (India), and ran annual competitions in at least Calcutta, Delhi, Bombay and Madras. He was in many ways the father of aeromodelling in India. After he passed away IHC and SMAE seem to have vanished (Ravi and Rishi, where are you? Do you even see RCI? Many well wishers here.)
2. Many years later comes one Mr Anwar who starts an online forum called RCI.
Whatever others may think, my opinion is that after Mr Suresh Kumar, this was the next landmark event for aeromodelling in India.
Pioneers do what they think best for the hobby. They have every right.
Anyone can criticise.
But it needs a pioneer to offer a meaningful alternative.
Many fields are still available for a pioneer to sponsor new competitions like:
1. RC Precision Aerobatics
2. RC 3D
3. Pylon racing like the Red Bull races
4. Scale models (small)
5. Scale (1/4 scale and above)
6. DLG
7. Free flight in various categories.
And a dozen others.
Criticising is easy.
Pioneering is not so easy!
My request to critics, please be constructive and open up a new field
Mr. Anwar bhai can I use regional language newspaper as verification???
Sure. Please be sure to show enough of the news paper in one pic, and another close up where the date is readable.
A noble intention, Mr. Chodankar.
Nonetheless, I really hope to see you participating in the sweepstakes, and, like most (if not all) the participants make the best model your resources permit. The loudest applause will be from me.
Good luck
hey ...
my intentions have shifted...
i am building a ft old fogey and a flying witch.....
just bought depron....
Had troubles with sitaram stationers... read my topic.....

If you follow all the rules, including the fact that you have to buy from an Indian LHS if you win (not sure how many ship overseas).
Still have all my friends back there so that will surely not be a problem, only getting "the Hindustan" and other Indian newspapers will be a hassle so will use the local papers here. they have dates too i think. :-D

Anwar Sir/All - maybe too trivial, but is there a naming convention for each entry? It becomes easier to notice/sort? Maybe " 2015-RCISW-Brief description of the model". These may later be consolidated (i am afraid I do not know if one exists already) of each SW ......if not may be worthwhile to create one for easy reference and to avoid duplication of earlier builds?

Young man, read the very first Condition in the very first post in this thread!
quote
The general conditions are :
1. The build and maiden should between 12th June 2015 and 15 August 2015 (10am deadline).
2. This has to be a new build clearly documented by newspapers placed near the starting off material for the build. Please post multiple pictures allowing us to clearly authenticate the date claims (at

Oh! I got scared. Thanks Sanjay sir.
""5. The final product should do its intended purpose, with reasonable stability. That means aircrafts should fly, cars should run, etc. This must be supported by video evidence, with a single continuous shot of the model in closeup first, and then moving into action / flight. ""
wow this will be fun....does this mean your aircraft will be qualified only if it flys and you have a video of it.....?
What if i started building a airplane today 15july took pics with news papers and then completed it on 17july then did a madien and it flew .....but i decide to post this entire build with pic and videos ...only after it flys thats 18july will it qualify.......
So in short i put up my entire build with pic and news papers and videos only after i know it has flown sucefully
@romanxdsouza
Roman,
You are too experienced for such doubts!
You can easily put up 4-5 builds with proof of flight videos in the next 4 weeks.
Have you seen how many guys are building small models this year?
I think its because of your builds in the last one year or so!
Best wishes.
I was always confused about sweeptakes sir hahhahaaa reallly had never taken part because of the confusion .

Could we have the members participating in the free flight category mention their threads in a separate thread? It'll make it simpler to put the entried together for judging.

Mod: As per rules the model has to have a flying video. Some of the "qualified" entries in the list do not have successful flying videos. Thus they cannot be considered

I couldn't go through all the threads before the list was compiled. I had a quick look and added them to the list. In the interest of getting the judging started, I might have qualified ineligible entries. I'm pretty sure those entries will not be judged.
Thanks! But the first and second link isn't working. Please update it.

Now i believe the delay is justified! Good to see these many builds.

This is getting weird. If your links are not working, let me know.
That is because there is an issue with "pretty URLs" and exclamation marks ( "!" )
You have to use the "[ url ] [ /url ]" tags to post links containing exclamation marks.
I guess the guys who wrote this piece of software were thinking "who in their right mind would put exclamation marks in topic names". That would be a stupid thing to do, and no one would ever do it ;D
The guilt of some money that came in from Google Adwords is weighing heavy on Anwar-bhai.
Someone please complete this so we can start planning builds for the 2016 'stakes >:D >:D
Any updates? ;D

Happy new year....hint hint :giggle:
Waiting patiently......
waiting.

best of luck to all

Judging will begin shortly. The list of entries has been compiled.
Christmas is coming, and going........
:giggle: :giggle: .....new year for sure...
With due apologies for the delay, here are the winners. I really wanted to at least go through the entries with some diligence to apply the multipliers and qualifying conditions, and my scheduled messed up everything. Next time we will do this differently, so that I do not become a bottle neck.
jana.f22 (http://www.rcindia.org/profile/?u=9731)
Kiran RC (http://www.rcindia.org/profile/?u=7681)
Congratulations to the winners !
Please contact me via PM, and let me know the shop name which you prefer to purchase from.
It was interesting that there were almost 200 entries to pick from *after applying the multipliers*. Really encouraged by the participation, and that makes the delay in announcing winners even more painful.
Regarding the non-powered flight, I can see only couple of entries. I would suggest the person who proposed the prize to review and send the results to me for announcement :)
Happy new year and congratulations winners

to Iyer sir:
I will do what you said sir!
but right now DTDC has messed up.
They do not know where my parcel is.
track: C66165357
I know it says OUT FOR DELIVERY but actually it is somewhere in delhi which i do not know.
The Dtdc local warehouse cut my call as they see my number and if i call them from other no.s, they cut the call after recognizing my tracking number and/or Voice.
And this was DTDC EXPRESS service for which i paid approximately 300 rupees.
I am in JUMBO trouble.
Help Please.
thank you all!
but right now,
the situation is no good!
I got the porter after heated arguments on phone with DTDC customer care.
Ill post the pics and clarify the doubts in a new thread.
Regards
