Gaurav ,
Visited their place  recently  nice persons  I met their adviser as well as their Chairman , their main business is export as oem supplies of radial engines to Germany .
Their products as very well appreciated and accepted in EU including things like oleo struts etc .

I saw some engines being manufactured as well as tested  was impressed.

I have a UMS 25 engine. Its an exact copy of OS 25 LA engine. However, I am not very convienced on its performance. Sorry to sound negative here but its just what I felt. It could spin the propeller but dosen't have enough torque that is expected out of a good OS 25 LA. May be they have improved their design by now.

Few years before I learnt that one of the UMS engine that flew in cholavaram broke its crank shaft on flight. Problem is with the heat treatment of the crankshaft. That was at test stage and hopefully fixed by now.

On the UMS 25:
+ Good Idle charateristics
+ Good transistion
+ Very good construction - same as OS 25 LA

- Lacks power (Esp when the engine gets hot)
- There could be some more improvement done on the piston cylinder metallurgy.

Pls note that my comments are based on the UMS 25 engine which I bought a year before. Now things would be different.

I have been to their factory in Coimbatore with a friend who was looking to buy retracts for his Turbine project.  Turns out they sell widely in Europe being OEM for some brands there (can't remember the names).

Seemed to be doing decent business, by the looks of their manufacturing operations.  They were doing both gasser and glow engines, and other items like retracts.

We did not buy the retracts in that trip, as we were a bit confused about the sizes.  Did not check with the friend later whether he ended up buying from them.  It was fun to see engines being designed in something like AutoCAD, and slice-through models of various types of engines !

Well came across their engines at Sharma Models at Jodhpur last month... the .46 glow was excellent as described by the Sharmas and even as I saw it perform.... over 13,500 rpm steady on 10x6 prop when the engine was brand new.  Extremly silent and easy to start....

Also saw their 7 cylindered Petrol engine.... looked impressive.
Well I been into aeromodelling since I was in School....  and then been in the air for over 30 years.  Now looking to be back into aeromodelling full time...
