Guys,
I wanted to check in and see if anyone of you has had an experience with this ASP 1.20 4 stroke engine.
I am planning to use this on my new .60-.90 extra. and though the specs seem perfect, i would love to have some first hand reviews.
This would be my first ASP engine , having used OS and TT everywhere, so i am a little apprehesive.
Thanks for sharing your views here !

Well OS/TT are of course known good stuff.
I heard good reviews of the ASP 91FS , that is why was wondering if anyone has used the ASP 120 .
Let me know if anyone has used this or seen this ..
Thanks !

Magnum and ASP are clones to best of my knowledge and emante from the same manufacturer in China. Another reason why I would beleive with ASP is that it goets sold in UK by Just Engines who may have forgotten more about engines than many of us combinedly know. These guys would not put thier money and most importantly thier reputation on a lemon.
However I have had mixed experience with ASP where something turned out really good while the other one a lemon till I had it fixed locally and now it is better than the original, but guess this could happen to best of the brands

Not meaning to diss other brands, but the general feeling (not necessarily all correct!) in the two fields I fly are that when it comes to nitro engines, it is pretty much OS or YS.

Recently some heli flyers started saying good things about the Thunder Tiger Redline engines.  Even they were uncommitted to the earlier engines from TT.

Just to let people know that ASP are not clones.

Please note that there are many products in the market which are branded and marketed using different names, couple are listed below

Magnum in the US akka ASP for rest of the world.
Airtronics in the US akka Sanwa for the rest of the world.
Evolution Gas Engines in the US akka MVVS for the rest of the world.
Even Nitro cars, planes, helis etc are also marketed in the same way.

So when they say Magnum is good then so will ASP.

Clone from a product point of views is one that copies or closely resembles another, as in appearance or function.

In this case it refers to different markets having different brand names and the same is manufactured by one of the companies.

Katty,
When Dolly the sheep was cloned everything else was same except for the name, right?
So here we have two engines whch get sold in two different markets under two different names but except for the name everything else is same, so what is the term to be used for these if not clones?
Thanks

Just looked up a dictionary. The relevant definition: "knock off; a copy or imitation".

So I guess the clone tag would not be applicable, in this case.

Here is another deffinition

A copy of something or someone.(or a sheep!)

there are many more.

Both engines are probably manufactured in the same
factory using same machines and raw material.
