Title: Breakin of my new Saito 125
Post by: gauravag on October 20, 2009, 05:34:06 PM
Guys,
I finally did the breakin of my new Saito 1.25 four stroke. Had been waiting for it since a while and finally got to do it today.
This is my first Saito, and i went exactly by the instruction manual.
First tank was run at very rich but half throttle keeping RPM at around 4500
Second tank was run at full throttle with rpm at 6500 ( still very rich ) .
Third tank was run , half at 7500 and half at 8000 all at full throttle.

Each time the engine was hand started and fired up in one flick .  Prop used was 16x6 .
Exhaust and crankcase breather was continously monitored alongwith RPM.
Will be flying this tomorrow and post pictures. Few things i noted, which perhaps others can clarify on :
1. There was considerable vibration. I had the engine correctly mounted, and the mounts are properly aligned and tight, but the airframe was vibrating a lot. On idle it was a lot too.

2. Even though i had tightened the exhaust muffler, it still got black with the oil . Does this happen to all 4 stokers (my other mufflers are black too ), or is there a way to avoid ?

I seem to love the engine so fare. just awesome sound ! toooo good.

both are normal for a four stroke.. dont worry. may be next time you can buy a soft mount for your engine to lessen the vibes.
