The chain saw engine will cost you about 12 to 15k depends. If you are planning to use the chain saw engine for an rc plane you are wasting your time...I tried this 8 years back, they are bulky heavy & perform too bad in comparison to a rc gas engine.

Not for a plane but for a car. I'll fabricate most of the parts myself.
i want to make it look like a flat bed truck.

i think engine from pesticide blower should be fine. small enough and no hassles of start up. also we can use two props if we can manage the mounting. two props may add up more lift :)

Chainsaw engines should be fine for a car although i have never laid my hands on them but seen many videos online,
you can get a chainsaw for 6000 in bazaar for chinese brand.

The Engine from latest pesticide blower will be perfect , these engines have evolved a lot. Though i have tried one quite long back was bulky and major modifications required, but latest ones are quite very small neat and tidy. will start on single kick/pull....

Note : these are very powerful and run nonstop at full throttle for 10-12 hours for year long without any overhaul, this is my personal experience , we have couple of old and new ones at my home town for pesticide blowing.

for your ref i have attached pics..

Old Models

New Models

Old model ones are very rugged and may get within 2k range... Brand - ASPEE BOLO is the best and use Kerosone only.
