Even its illegal to buy methanol  or stock methanol in Bangalore! try with Sanjeev sir (RCDHAMAKA)
To increase thrust you need more  money! But to reduce weight you  need nothing!

why do you need LR methanol.  :headscratch: commercial is good enough... :)
Cheers !!!

Adarsh007/Rotorzone may know sources.  For pre-mixed, Model Art or Mayura are confirmed sources.

Hi All,

I just spoke to Rotor in Chennai and was informed that they are going to manufacture their own fuel with Klotz synthetic oil. The manufacturing unit is being setup at COIMBATORE and expected to start production from 9th September, 2010. The price will also be much lower.

Thanks

I thought Mayura rates were pretty reasonable.  Don't remember the exact figures though.

It is available in Coimbatore itself @ Mahalakshmi Scientific . The Price is around Rupees 470.00 for a bottle of 2.5 Litre.

Well Lab grade fuels are not required.  Lab Grade means AR (Analytical Reagent) or a LR (lab reagent) both are costly and not required.  Use commercial stuff as its good enough and available when required.

please real my earlier post my Ashish...... just get the commercially available Methanol.  This is available at Chemical suppliers in every city who supply to schools, Colleges and hospitals.  You may take their number from yellow pages and ask them for the Methanol... Today they may be reluctant to sell you due to some states putting restrictions on sale of methanol.... but as commercial cleaning agent he may be able to sell you small quantities.... enough for your hobby needs...

RumblePirate

Sigma-Aldrich India, is of the the best sources for Lab Grade(AR) Methanol and any other alcohol.
Prices for lab grade are too high for RC use,but total impurities are just 0.01%. Use the same for DNA or Mass Spectrometer experiments

i've Ethanol with me, use it for cleaning lol

Well Mr RumblePirate..... AR methanol is for people using it in medical work or for scientific research work where purity is a paramount requirment.  For our hibby needs just go and buy commercial one.  You may like to save money here and buy more useful things for your hobby................ The engine will work fine with commercial methanol also....
