In that case, I feel you had not described your symptoms correctly. The idle mixture setting will affect mid throttle, and more important, the transition from low to high. This will manifest itself even on the ground. The airplane does not have to be airborne.

If the idle mixture is rich, the engine will splutter and then pick up when the throttle is opened rapidly. If it is lean, it will tend to cut. Do note that the high speed setting will affect the idle but not vice versa. So set the high end BEFORE setting idle. Once set you will not need to change unless you alter your fuel blend.

From my experience, it is amazing how little attention one gives to getting this right. I have resolved many "dead stick" at mid throttle by careful adjustment as described.

Anyway, the good thing is that your problem has been sorted out. Happy flying!

And yes. Klotz is available occasionally from Rajiv Jain, Radical Works, New Delhi @  :Rs:1,000+taxes+shipping for One Quart, which is just under 1 lt. Nitro should be available locally.
