Its not working with turnigy glow igniter with new Duracell 1.5v batteries :help: me. I am new to nitro. I checked the plug removed outside from engine. 1.56 volts is coming from the igniter. i checked it with multi meter. What am i missing here  :banghead: :banghead: :help: :help:

don't panic ... test the resistance of the glow plug with a multimeter - should be about 3 -4 ohms ( do not touch the coil - it is delicate) upto about 10 is workable

if it is round about that then the plug is ok.

also  a single duracell 1.5 v  AA cell may not be able to take the load of a glow plug which pulls about 2.5 amps you need nicd or nimh

if you insist on using duracell AA cells then use about 4 in parallel.

look up youtube for testing glow plugs

Mine only works with a duracell , check the glow plug if its ok or not . On the other hand that turnigy tool is crap , get a good one .

Thanks sir (saikat and Rcjabalpur) :hatsoff:, It helps a lot. Now i am going to make a glow plug driver(pic attached). With ammeter instead of fuse. Is this good for glow plug?

vishal

get a glow plug driver and use at least a 2 cell lipo, or power it directly from the receiver. using a single cell ...it wont last much, or else u have to use a big lipo. u could also use rechargeable nimh single cell of around 2000 mah. this will avoid ur own innovative circuit but if u want to experiment go ahead with ur creativity. turnigy products are not bad .

This particular glow plug is not so good.  I too ordered the same but it's not working so good I got a similar one from a fellow member n that was working fine even though it was a used one.  but I used a 2100 mah battery.  There are some good ignitor available that use lipo to power better go with that kind.

Duracell is not the type of cell designed for Gloplugs, it might be good for other applications but not  for glow plug.
In order to check if your plug is right, just use a short piece of wire and a fully charged 1.2V Nicd. Even the 500 mAh will give you a good glow.
You have another component in your circuit and you do not know if that is working (the turnigy igniter). Eliminate that and see if your plug works. If it does your turnigy component is bad.
While trouble shooting, always eliminate a component one by one and check if the issue goes away.
