I don't live in Mumbai to point you a location but generally speaking, you might want to check out some industrial chemists, these are the guys who supply to schools and colleges, and to manufacturing industries. Merck supplies 2.5 and 25 L packings of LR grade methanol which does the job well - Justdial might help. For oil, your local chemist should have bottles of castor oil (arandi ka tel) which is highly purified, there are cheaper sources but this can get you started up. As for nitromethane, I haven't found a source.

I cant believe you are still using own mix fuel. We have so many imported options now. Yes, you have to pay the cost, but takes the headache out of sourcing chemicals and offers better performance and engine life.

One size does not fit all. From experience, I have found the following mix as the best for 4C engines (which are the only type I have):

Methanol 80%, Klotz 12%, nitro 8%. Full synthetic is NOT cheap but do advise where I can get  a low oil content "pre mixed" fuel, as it is not cost saving that is my problem.

And, for many, cost IS an important consideration.

If you can get it (!) plain castor oil from a mill (from a village?) is better, because the refining process removes some of the lubricating properties. Do filter it carefully!!

However, the medicinal variety is what people get and use and there is probably no serious loss in performance or life.
