I could not open up the link...The Url is not opening..

It looks like a nitro engine., But the carb and the timing hood shows its petrol..
I can take off and fly well. Its landing which sucks :banghead::banghead:

Obviously its a gas engine, but the fact its very small (16cc) so may be it has been designed the way a nitro engine is made.
I'll be back.

abhay

Yes, till now i had heard of only a minimum of 25cc gassers..

This topic is a bit misleading.

1.  We have been using 15cc gas engines for many months now.  See these search results.

http://www.rcindia.org/search2?search=15cc+rcgf

2.  Now if the "nitro type" is referring to the how the engines are mounted, then the topic name does make sense.  Earlier gas engines (15cc and others) were all mounted directly on to the firewall/former, while these newer ones can be mounted just like glow ones, on the regular engine mounts.

3.  DLE 10 would be great, as a replacement for .46cu engines.  Looking forward to those.

If you are planning to buy make sure it has needle bearings on the con rod -i.e. it is not simply a conversion from an existing nitro engine with a bushed rod. If its the latter you would have to run much more oil (similar to nitro) in your fuel.

As correctly said by Anwar, the term simply means that the mounting of the gas engine can be done exactly in the same was as glow counterparts .... thus the ease of putting these gas engines on a glow plane ... a perfect example would be of putting a DLE 20CC on a 60 - 90 size glow model.... the gas engine would fit perfectly well on the glow model.....

One of the Distributors for these engines is Just Engines - UK. The GT17 would be ideal for 60 to 90 size planes. They will be launching many different sizes the smallest would be GT9 which is a 9cc and would be able to use on 46 size planes.

The engines will be available in India shortly and different models will be launched as and when they are available.

I would certainly be interested in getting a .46 equivalent.  Hope it comes with the EI gear also.
