Hahaha Gusty,
you are right I have pretty much been living aboard s/v P&P getting spoilt by luxuries like the autopilot etc while i brew coffee in the galley !
Its really amazing how one can switch on the AP and head down to do whatever while its blowing 16 -18 knots outside.
The AP actually does a better job at helming - makes one feel pretty incompetant.
You must come with dive gear one day !

rcpilotacro

Our diving trip stands !! i have four gears (Incl a portable Coltri MCH-6SH ) so four of us can dive . Mumbai from P&P in the evening, i dying to watch that site

Completely OFF Topic but here a pic i took yesterday of a mega Yacht in the Bombay harbor
Apparently belongs to a major MICROSOFT shareholder.
Its got two helipads and you can see the Hughes 500N (No tail rotor) on board.
Apparently its the 2nd biggest privately owned yacht in the world.
Makes me wonder how they possibly sailed thru the pirate infested Gulf of Aden to get here.
I guess being a Microsoft boat they have enough anti-piracy measures in place and they didn't leave any windows open :giggle:.

rcpilotacro

Must have payed up the pirates in advance, or could this one is too fast for the pirates

Too fast not likely- These pirates operate out of mother ships in skiffs that do 25-30 knots.
Armed with RPGs and AK47s that yacht would be a sitting duck.
Remember the Saudi Supertanker that was taken over by pirates ? Saudis had to pay millions of dollars to release crew and ship.
Sad but the situation is crazy out there - its a free for all , the pirates wont think twice before putting a bullet in someones head or killing hostages when confronted by Navy ships , which is why Naval vessels dont engage with pirates.
There have been case where yachts have been boarded even when there was naval presence in the area.
Even the Indian Navy has engaged with & captured pirates until recently, I wonder why they actually took these  guys prisoner ???
Should have just put a bullet thru their heads instead of bringing them back to be tried in our Indian courts at taxpayers cost.

rcpilotacro

True,i guess it runs deeper than we thought.. Peace & Plenty is better off at Mumbai and thereabouts

PS
i was thinking of a RC Submarine from P&P while diving , that would be some sight, Contour inside it will make it superb
