from where? (from what I know only tornado is the ready made fuel available in India)

Pros like Girish get their own fuel made through chemists...

P.S.: @Girish: I still need to collect some from your hangar!! (hiding under a chair as I type this) :P

Well.... you too may make your own Fuel for your glow engines.... just get some Methanol and Castor oil from the local Chemist and mix them in 80:20 ratio.  No need to add any nitro methane till you need that extra kick from the engine....  For general use plain fuel without the NITRO is good enough.  I done that for many many years and so can you too.

-corrected.
Well I been into aeromodelling since I was in School....  and then been in the air for over 30 years.  Now looking to be back into aeromodelling full time...

For general use plain fuel with the nitro is good enough.

How much does castor oil cost and which one do you guys use generally? I figured that the combined cost with methanol turns out to be equal to a 1% nitro 4 litre can priced at 1600 bucks at rcskyhobby.com

I bought castor oil @ Rs 160 per kg (sold by weight here in Bangalore) nearly  equal to a litre - enough to prepare 5 ltrs of fuel.
