Ian, all the best for your engine. Just not transferring money, our country has too many rules that getting a Transmitter legally is big hassle.

For others around Bangalore and elsewhere in the country, Mr Sampath of 'New India Hobbies' in Ulsoor, Bangalore has couple of Sharma engines. Please inquire him as well.

There are many such shops here, but not with Sharma products :(

The simplest for shops like Sharma may be setup an eBay shop.  I believe people like Sai  (rcforall.co.in) are doing business with international customers quite easily with his eBay shop (http://stores.ebay.in/rcforallin).

Yes all these money transfer companies can only be used by Indians working abroad to send money to support friends and family as there is no tax involved. Paypal could be used earlier but I think there is a restriction on that too.
I spoke to Vivek and he did explain that as he has experienced several problems on transfer issues he always advises his customers to transfer money via bank transfer and bank transfer only.... I wonder if postal orders work??
Glad to know Ian has finally managed to place his order. I hear, Vivek has offered a little something extra to compensate for Ian's loss even though the loss was due to no fault on Vivek's part....

Thanks Vivek for looking after us Aeromodellors..... I am sure the engines you supply Ian will generate enough business to offset the parts you are giving to Ian FOC.. :)

Son of Paleface

Yes  that is very appreciated from MR Sharma......some compensation for a real saga....

contrary to common belief, Clinical Ether, Kerosene and Castor,,since when this concoction is called diesel ? :headscratch: Rudolf Diesel must be tossing in his grave
Gusty,
It is not the fuel (mix of ether/castor/kero) which is called diesel but the engine, for the simple reason that it is a compression ignition engine as in true diesel engine.

I'm using Sharma Diesel engine since 1991 while I joined Air Wing NCC, even I've used Aurora engines. We used to use them for Free flight, Control Line Aerobatic, Control Line Speed models and even we used them on glider. NCC is still using Sharma Diesel Engines for Control Line Aerobatic models, because compare to Glow engines they have less power  which is good for teaching flying to new NCC cadets. I love smell of Diesel fuel especially after burn smell but I really hate smell of after burn glow fuel. But it is true because they don't have any muffler so it makes too much mess so you're right about apron. ;D

Rajib Da,
Did you mean that glow is less powerful than diesel or did you mean what you have written (highlighted)?

Thought As much, esp the start, as we speak, my NC (Not exactly sahayak ) is sitting with Vivek , i want to try building the Kaiser Kit, will post a log on it, except fro the fact that it is messy and in a RC Model throttle response aint good, sharma eng are superb.

Another Consumable less

A helicopter carby with mid range mixture control will slove all the throttling problems with Diesels , my Irvine 40 diesel has instantaneous response to RPM change , I fitted an Enya 30 carby to it and when the mid range is tuned  , it is unbelievable

I was looking for something else, but was spellbound by this sequence.

What happened finally?

Could the Australian buyer get his engines?

??? !!! ???

iwincar

VintageFlier

I agree with iwincar on the attractive price of Sharma engines.

It seems they have a good reputation too for being well-built engines. Something to be proud of.

Wish they find a means of selling better and responding better to individual purchases, coping with the laws of the land.

To come back to my question, does anybody know:

Could the Australian buyer get his engines?
