Title: TT Pro 46 tuning help
Post by: deepikarun on April 29, 2011, 05:58:46 PM
I have TT Pro 46 engine in my beaver 40 with 10x8 prop. The hs needle is at 2 turns from fully closed position. Please advice if the needle setting is ok.
Thanks
Arun

If it is the first tank for break-in, no harm in opening a bit more, like 3 turns, unless you feel it is flooding the engine.

Thanks Saikat and Anwarji. I am using synthetic fuel with 5% Nitro. The breakin process is over and I am looking forward to maiden her. As this is my first flight I am really confused about the power required for the flight. I want to ensure that the model is not under powered.

Hope you are flying on a field with a good/long runway...  and if it has enough power to take off, it should pretty much fly :)

Most people fly at mid-throttle (and other lower/higher values), and not at the max throttle/power of the engine, so this should not be a huge concern (unless you don't find enough power even to take off).

Thanks Anwarji.
I am worried about takeoff only as this is my first flight. I suppose the throttle has to be fully opened during takeoffs.
After long search I have come across a big field nearby and hopefully maidening the beaver tomorrow morning.
Will be posting the video here.

Thanks
Arun
