here wee have is a 2.5 cc C/L speed engine. Brought it around a month ago as there was a speed event coming up in February, unfortunately it was cancelled.
UCTKAM is a Russian manufactured engine in the late 80's or 90's (not sure), but it is called vintage and rare. no idea if it really is(hope so, since i paid a bomb for it). this particular engine has its glow plug embedded in the head and if the plug fuses, u change the head. it has a tuned pipe for the exhaust and the length can be seen in the pics.
it is considered to be a clone of ROSSI 2.5 CL speed. the design is almost same but differs in the metallurgy and a fine reduction in power. hence this was used mostly in speed trainers instead of the final competition planes. though the power is unmatched to the regular 2.5 cc (.15) available in the market today. it is short in terms of the speed engines.
here are some pics of that
1> starboard side of the engine
2> the name UCTKAM and " MADE IN RUSSIA" is visible, along with a fine damage on the cooling fin during shipping
3> 2.5 KP or 2.5 cc along with the serial no can be seen
4> close look at the serial no.
got some specs from the seller. which turn out to be almost true.
the RPM with 5% nitro, 20% castor, rest methanol is around 29,000, (yes that's right twenty nine thousand) with a single blade prop.
can give a speed of around 270-300 KM/h. so that's 10 laps in just 12-14 seconds
pics continued.
1> back side with a rear exhaust
2> front with a venturi
3> single bladed carbon prop. ( note the brass weight on the other side, and the light holes for balancing.)
"10 laps in just 12-14 seconds" >:D >:D
vishvesh be careful, it may turn you around as well.. ;D ;D lol
