I am again in nitro but a recent problem is high price and low stock of air filter oil(tornado). Just wanted to know what oil do you use or what substitutes have you come up with yourself..:)
No one use airfilter?
Pardon me (a car newbie), but do you really need oil in "air filters" ? It is just sponge that is fixed on top of the carb intake, right ? :headscratch: ;D
plane is in air so there are less chances of any dirt in air but cars are on land in dust so you need oil to trap the dirt in air, manuals recommend it
A little bit of castor oil will do.
or you can use any lube oil that can be used in your engine as the traces of oil will also go in the engine.

A must for offroad cars. The operating conditions will see that dust will enter the carb. I use 2 stage filter and oil my inner filter. I use some branded filter oil but I understand it is basically castor oil with some color.
Can i find castor oil locally...? I dont want to buy castor oil mixed with color for 400 rupees
you can get castor oil at any mediacal store / chemist.
you will get mediacal grade 400ml bottel for about rs 90 /- which will last for a long time.
there might be a variation in price as i bought it about 6 months ago.

Ask for aggerwal's madical grade castor oil

in the nitro, syringe body , cut. muslin, clipped, with white greased/ castor oil is a good stop gap arrangement, but real stuff is real stuff
