All the best Param & Sandy. Should be a very interesting build, especially from my experience with elerc.com's instructions :D
Despite all that, the models are lovely, and great fun to build
Build Progress of this Sunday on the laser stick.

Like any good scratch builder parts separated from the sheets of Balsa and lite ply and the usable scraps of both Balsa and Lite ply collected separately for future use. ;D
All set now! I'm still jealous of your green rubber mat :)
Sir green Mat is the recent acquisitions from I2CGlobal ebay.in after your encouragement on VC's thread. ;D
Isn't that so obvious from the pad my son is using above the green mat to cut out parts. ;)
With the experience of Idol Laser build under our belt, build of this one was on fast forward mode. Even my son knew before how it has to progress and he was ready with the parts even before you could ask him are tell him.
Some more build photos.
Fuse and tail feathers assembled.

Great! Really taking shape fast. Any dihedral? The reason I ask is I have the same kit from RCB
Transom does not have the slot cut for the ribs by design for a dihedral, though you can easily give dihedral by fitting the inner most rib at an angle. The wing joiner provided is straight and not at an angle for a dihedral and a new one has to be fabricated to provide a dihedral. Any how the one provided is over sized and would not go in the slot in the ribs, so perforce I am cutting out a fresh one to the size from the left over scraps of lite ply.
Though this was supposedly with ailerons it is not already pre-cut in the parts. One has to cut out the aileron from the trailing edge after the trailing edge spacer. The space on the fuse for mounting the wings provided is there only for a wing cut without the aileron in the middle. So even if one decides to go without the aileron cut out, inner two ribs trailing edge have to be cut any how to accommodate the wings on the fuse.
Some more Progress on the model.

This wing wants to take to air already :giggle:
Earlier it was kept like this on the wall.

On a gust of wind it just took off from here and glided partially and landed on one corner and already got one beauty spot. :(

Glider wing :banghead:
Why Gusty you wanted a swastik on it? :)
The Top surface is not yet covered it is going to be Blood red with Swastik.
Now a days My colour scheme are mostly done keeping your flying in mind you know why ;) :giggle:
By tomorrow the stick should be ready.
some more build progress.
The wing fully covered hinged and the tail feathers covered and hinged.

Balance what is left are
1. Servo for the throttle.
2. placement of the fuel tank.
3. covering of the nose.
4. covering of the fuse.
With the fuel tank installed and filled, will you need to add weight in the rer ar to get the proper CG?
Nice build ......... {:)}
Thanks
@theleabres
I was also doubting the same, since the Engine with exaust at the rear was mounted slightly ahead. However the CG with Dry Fuel tank In front is at 30% without the battery . If I mount the tank at CG and bty slightly behind it is still tail heavy. hoping the throttle servo right in front might compensate
A really nice father-son build..great stuff..a video will be great..all the best..
Thanks Atul Video follows
It was finally completed yesterday

Good one {:)}
Thanks
Its AUW is 820 gms with Full Tank and 2S Lipo. The CG is at 30% Chord.
:goodjob: nice build {:)}
:thanks:
This is the second test run. Engine Starts easy with just on third hand flick always. Could not Maiden today as the throttle Servo failed me for the second time also. Now changed the servo to a new one.
Had gone on a Picnic Today did some slope soaring of Shikra. could keep the Shikra airborne for close to three hours without opening throttle for even once all the time. Shikra came down with 1600 Mah Lipo at 65% capacity after all the time.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pHaRgzrgK4
RPM came close to 13400 on a 7x5 prop. This one can easily touch 15000. Static Thrust was close to plus 600 gms. This one is going to be a rocket. Decided to change the Futaba R6004FF four channel Rx to a Futaba R617FS since with R6004FF will easily go out of range.
waiting to see it fly... (:|~ (:|~
This one was late in evening so apologies for poor light condition and video.
The stick did really well for the first flight. It was amazingly fast had a pretty tough time getting it down on the small ground due to high tree line all around. was always running out of runway length. had to do a nose down hard landing. No damage though.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Le5rxEthDy0
watch out for next video in good light condition with a better camera.
This model has been the favorite one till date. Flies agile like a combat glow engine model, tracks as if on rail, floats and glides smooth like a foamy glider in slow speed. All you need is football ground open space. Can be easily hand launched. Full tank 4 ounces runs for more than 15mins. Always now I land it dry tank dead stick.
Now so impressed with the engine went ahead and bought one more same engine AP YELLOW JACKET 0.15. ;D
Sandy Saheb, from where did you get it?
Sanjay Sir RCHYDRABAD ebay.
http://www.ebay.in/itm/111194182055?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
sundaram sir what is the difference between AP HORNET 0.15 engine & AP YELLOW JACKET 0.15 engine :headscratch: :headscratch:
Both same no difference.
No wonder I was confused! It IS ASP not AP :D :D
Not as an absolute novice trainer model since no dihedral but amazingly aerobatic surely as a second trainer for aerobatics defenitely.
This one has such a small flight envelop, crazy fun to do aero combat with visiting Eagles. You can do multiple circles around the poor bird. After few minutes they all flee and abandon the feild. :giggle:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Ub-5f5MlIA (//http://)
In a second of loss of orientation when flying low and far with trees in background the model was totalled :P . RIP. Though repairable, building a new one is in order. Now two similar ones are planned to be build for flying in formation with same identical engines.
What size glow plug is used for this engine 0.9 & 0.15
Kindly suggest me.
