i everyone,
I just acquired an Applebox balsa glider, and was wondering if a OS .15 LA would be enough to take it up ?
Also i have a 3 channel Futaba radio with Futaba S3114  micro servos ( 21 oz/inch ).
Would they be enough for the controls ? or should i go in for standard servos ?

I plan to fly this just like a glider is meant to be, so may not require a greater torque than this, but just wanted to confirm !

Thanks to all.

why not consider an electric setup?? might work out cheaper (and cleaner of course  ;))!!

I just had a .15 engine lying around, and thought i would put it to use, if the power would be adequate.
Just did not want to invest in batteries/motors/chargers yet  for an old glider !
I might just try it out.. do you think the servos will be enough for the rudder/elevator ?

I would think the servos would be enough!! But if you have any second thoughts, go in with the standard servos.. I have a Thunder Tiger Wind Star (2m wing span) and they suggest standard servos.. OS .15 would be perfect though!

Flew this yesterday with the .15 and standrad servos.. All was ok. power was enough, and it was a very relaxed, sunday flying... I sometimes love to fly gliders.

You have already confirmed your questions. If you have access to HS 81 or similar servos you can save some weight here and they are sufficient for the job, I use them on my 2 M Spirit
If you are really into scale you should be here. www.rcscalebuilder.com
