Two scratch built 17 foot Avro Lancaster Bombers in formation

Truly spectacular scratch built aeromodelling. In a world of ready to fly RC aircraft these are rare and beautiful to watch in action.

These aircraft are built from Falcon Aviation kits and Tony Nijhuis plans, have a wingspan of 17 feet and are 1/6th scale. Each model weights about 87 pounds without fuel and are powered by four Zenoah 38s.

That Spitfire pilot kept a really watchful protective eye on both the Lancasters.
Till one did a low pass this way, and the other the other way.
That was too much for Spitfire, who landed in protest...

I'd not seen a Lancaster opposing pass before either. No wonder it scared him into landing !
