Finally Completed and ready for test flight. Since build has been mostly  midnight to midnight I am worried I might have to do a night test flight.

Monocote is 1.5 Mtrs all colour put together.
Remaining are Engine, five servos HXT 900, control horns four, control couplings four, flexible control rod snake and tube one, fuel tank 2 ounces sulivan flex, BEC HK 3 Amps and thats about it.

Wingspan 43"
Chord 6.5"
AUW 585 Gms.

Wing loading 10.5 Oz/Sqft

Its a Glider alright  ;D

Test flight in next two days.

Papillon is still to see air time and in the mean time parts for next 1/2 A is already ready. There are ribs enough for two more wings and still the scraps are no where near getting over. I thought i can throw some scrap out after cutting parts but they now seems good enough for micro scale balsa build  :giggle:

sundaram

It was slightly tail heavy. May be as suggested by Sanjay Sir will have to add LG after all. For the first time the TT GP 0.07 is in air so chose to keep it rich and flight was smooth and steady. Next flight I will make it optimum needle settings for the model. This completes the formalities for the Sweepstakes 2015
Enjoy

Thanks for watching

Very nice. Waiting for the next build using the precious balsa scrap.

sundaram

Thanks Sir.  Yes next 1/2 A is already half ready photo update coming up shortly. That's going to be junior papillon with lesser wing span for Cox 0.049.

Can't ask for a better launch/takeoff in the maiden!
Hands off she went straight and smooth.
Sundaram sir was saying she'll be a glider.
I kept thinking she'll be a jet.
On rich needle or power off she was like a trainer.
But did you see what happened when she was leaning out?
Wait till the needle is screwed in another 90degrees...

Sir, the youngsters kept asking you for the Tx, but you never gave them  :banghead:

Lovely Sandy! So stable; and, after the engine cut she floated in like a butterfly  ;D

sundaram

Thanks Iyer Sir,

It was after a really long time for the first time I could get the TT GP 0.07 in air. This was my first engine which I had bought during my novice days of aero-modelling in Oct 2009. I had actually bought it along with a 1000ml Fuel tank from towers, not really having any idea on the size of this engine I was buying  :giggle: :giggle:. It was only when it reached me I realized my blunder. I was just relishing the flight & engine for the moment. Further logging the video for the formalities was also a priority in back of my mind.

Next time on-wards it belongs to the Youngsters sir.  ;D

Yes sir was really happy with the way it went off away from the hand. I flies really well.

By getting the CG little forward and the engine bit more leaned out it will perform really well and aggressively. Good 12 Mins of flight time with a 2 Oz Sullivan flex tank.

Thanks Sanjay Sir. It flew in like a well trimmed glider.

Progress on Junior Papillon   ;D Continues

Its based on build of same plan but with less ribs

Wing Span 92 Cms 36"
Chord 6.5"
Expected AUW 450 gms Approx with a Cox 0.049.
Wing loading 9.8 Oz/ Sq ft

Going to be a glider once again.

All feathers are ready need to build the fuse now. I have to complete this soon and commence my Delta Pulse jet soon.

@sundaram sir,
Pics in reply 44 showing, but not in reply 43. Odd???

sundaram

@ Bhavesh thanks. Still practicing my skill for balsa build and perfecting my hand for my upcoming more ambitious Balsa builds.  ;D my flying feild is with lush green grass now I can risk the belly landings for now.

Iyer Sir it's seen at my end both #43 and # 44. May be a refresh screen will do the trick at your PC.

Now only electronics and linkages of fuse left for the Papillon Junior. Maiden this Sunday would be lovely. Unlike the Senior Papillon, this wing has no dihedral and no sweep. It's absolutely straight and flat. Turning out to be very tail heavy as of now let's see when it's ready completely. The wings are completely interchangeable  with senior. ;)

Lovely Build..... would love to see it flying like a beauty....
Best Wishes Sundaram Sir.
Well I been into aeromodelling since I was in School....  and then been in the air for over 30 years.  Now looking to be back into aeromodelling full time...
