I got the 3 plastic parts - Turtle Deck, Canopy, Cowl from USA. Rest is scratch built here
The wing is foam core with balsa sheeting. Cores were cut with hot wire

Looking neat and great sir!!
Thanks Mehul. Still a long way to go!
I considered using 3 mm balsa sheeting for the fuselage. But after some consideration, I realised it would add about 150 grams, a lot more work, and Corro would work fine
Plus, if I don't use some corro, it would be OoC ;)
What is OOC? ;D
Great build sir!

Haha.
Try to guess.
Here's a clue. "It has reference to the context"
As soon as I saw Rai saheb's post, I began waiting to see who would be the first of many puzzled members to seek clarification ;D

Lol Iyer sir! Prabal, OoC is "Out of Character"
Wing is held down by dowels in front, and bolts at the back. Before gluing in the formers I fixed the Dowels, as later there would be no place for the drill once the fuse was assembled

What about hangar rash??

A part of life
Not dependent so much on quantity of models, but on how they are stored, and how long they remain idle without being flown
Need to make a balsa piece for the lower fuselage front.
Supposed to be carved out of a 1"block, I fabricated one instead by gluing strips

Wing tips made
Original design suggested carve out of a 1 1/2"X 1 1/2"square bock. I chose to make a fabricated (built-up) tip

I had inserted hardwood blocks into the foam before sheeting, for anchoring the main LG
Aileron Servos. Made a 3 mm balsa box, with a 3 mm ply lid, screwed down.
Drilled a hole through the foam, and put a PVC tube, for the aileron wire

How did the elevator and rudder become shiny white from brown??
I also don't see control surfaces on the trail.
They were covered with heat shrink film(generically Monokote)
The Rudder & Elevator are yet to be fitted on

Wow!
I'd sure be scared to test fly this.
Though I'd have tried if it'd been control line... ;D
Why ever? Is something wrong with the build which has slipped my attention?
Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
Not at all!
Just looks too fast and fighter like for my skill level (electrics below 300 watts, except for one 40 high wing)
Haven't had the gumption to assemble the Cap 232-46, or to complete the Minare!
Perhaps I should try my hand at precision aerobatics before I get TOO old...
And btw, my control liners were all Enya 19/ OS 20 powered.
I once bought (for 500) a 35 stunter from Mr Nagar, (engine and lines borrowed from him)
But after just one flight, and the line tension really scared me.
So I returned it. He said once sold is sold, can't return the money.
But he was kind enough to give me an old Merco 35 in exchange.
I still have it some 40 years later, though the carb mounting screws are nowhere to be seen...
Hope you did the maiden flight today (being Sunday). Await video eagerly.
Here's what a 50+ year old Merco 35 looks like...
Which Mr. Nagar was that: Vijendra or Ajit?
I rather trust Sig's designs, and hope the slow flying characteristics will live up to expectations
I myself am too old and short-sighted to try any precision aerobatics. I just enjoy building, then the unsurpassed satisfaction of seeing your creation fly 😁

Nitesh.
:thanks:
Sorry about the crash.
Repairable I hope.
Iyer sir, I'm going to try repair. Otherwise will build a new fuse, which luckily is Corro
Sir,
When are we going to see it in the air again?
Soon! ;D
Repairs done, just waiting for better weather
@sanjayrai55 sir,
Good to hear she's repaired.
Patch up or new fuselage?
Hope cowl, canopy etc salvaged.
Best wishes for next Sunday. BTW, what's the span, and wing loading?
Regards
Sig Kougar looks great...classic sIg design. Hope to see it flying again. So are you using the Merco?

Found the fault!
It was a defective aileron servo extension! Was causing one aileron to jitter badly :violent:
Anyway, repaired, extensions changed, and a very smooth remaiden

Congrats sanjay sir,
nothing more satisfying than a successful maiden.
Thanks Manoj :thanks:
This one was particularly satisfying - did a lot of work to make the model, and then crashed on the maiden because of the faulty servo extension :violent:
Guess all's well that ends well ;D
