I recently purchased RC plane made of balsa wood from usa. It got stuck in chennai customs. They are asking DGCA clearance and DGFT license to release it. It doesn't have remote and engine in it. If someone come across this situation please help me.

This should have come in the normal course.

Please write back to Chennai Customs that you have not imported any restricted item.
Hope you are luckyenough to get your parcel cleared without any problem.

Incidentally, why did you import this?
You could have got a similar kit in India.

I already given a write up to them. I was not aware that it is available in India at the time of ordering.

OP. Really shouldn't be the case incase there is no Tx and Rx.
Try writing to the customs dept. explainning this.

sick people with sick mentality Indian customs.. I wonder what rules they follow.. my friend orders many r/c sets from China to Canada & delivers without any problem...

Yeah, really sad that the customs are not letting it thru.
Anyhow if they are really not gonna let it go, then just ask your carrier for return shipment, at-least you might recover some of your hard earned money back.
Amain.com will surly accept returns and will refund you.

But first try explaining to them that the model has nothing to do with any frequency or radio equipment.
