SPAD's have got me hooked and the next one that I plan to make is the coro Extra from "Spadtothebone". One of the points that is eluding me is how to put up the firewall and how to secure it to the PVC former. I plan to make the formers with plywood.
Any sggestions

Wow!.. its very nice to see an avid spadder... Very few people start with their second spad build. Good luck on the build.

Spad extra is a good choice. There are many ways to mount the engine.

The first method is to run wooden reapers about 1/3rd the length of the fuselage (on the front) and make it stick outside. Note that I use CA to bond the wood reapers to the coro. They should be very strong & sturdy to take the engine vibrations. Now, you could mount the engine on the wooden reapers that stick outside on the front. This is one of my preferred ways to mount the engine as it is easy to rework in case of a crash. The first picture attached shows this.

The second method is to construct a proper fire 'floor' instead of a fire wall. This method is a bit complicated as you need to reinforce the critical points. The second picture attached shows this arrangement.

The third method is to have a thick plywood as a bulkhead and then use a standard engine mount for the engine. The third picture shows this arrangement. But note that in that picture I have used foam bulkhead behind the firewall. The foam is also glued to the firewall providing some cushioning effect to suppress vibrations. I think in the spad extra build plan the original builder has used this method.

Thanks Ismail, for ur kind and encouraging words. SPAD's seem my way of staying in this hobby, for now at least.
In the original plan there are 2 PVC formers and there is no refrence to the engine mount and firewall. Check out http://www.spadtothebone.com/SPAD/spadextra/fuse1.htm

Would you think that the first 2 methods would work with this plan.
As for the 3rd, how would the bulkhead be attached to the coro fuse?
By the way. The coro deb, if u remember would now be completed so that I can fly that whenever there is a lull in the rains. A SPA3D would maiden sometime this month, in Delhi. This would be the 4th and, I know as a fact, just the 4th out of maybe 20  ;D ;)
Waiting for ur suggestions

Once you know how to build SPADs you are almost addicted... Your mind almost spadifies everything... kind of like the guy in matrix movie, who sees green symbols raining down.. ;D ;D

On your build, the easiest method is to mount a plywood glued to the PVC former and use a engine mount (third method). But its not a structurally sound one and you might have torsional flex on the fuselage. I prefer the first method of wood reapers. In my experience, this method is structurally very strong and well proven.

You can also have mix of the first and the third method. Its up to you to decide on which one is best suited for the build.

Doc ,
Welcome to the world of SPAD , Ismail was the guy who got me hooked onto SPAD , though I took a different route  that traditional Spad builds after that  being an Electric SPADDER .

I don't face the same problems when it comes to firewalls hence  not much I can say.

But SPADDING is a creative side of building especially  when we got the 8ft WS Moss 4 x  air borne possibly of of the few SPAD's doing FPV .

All the best on you build will follow that.
