Wanted to know more about these configurations
one difference i noticed 6s can give more power
but not with all motors
Well 6S has more power potential . High voltage , low amp. Less heat = less energy waste. Cooler Systems and Efficient . More flying time.
Plus low C rating batteries will work with 6S.
3S system are most Economical . You need to see Watts and Kv of the motor.
You planning a 450?
450+many things
If you are a beginner than 3s might be enough for you, a major 3d player might well know 3s vs 6s performance on a 450 size heli. I think its kind of a fashion statement rather than performance on a 450 size heli. But in general 6S has more power potential. There is less energy wasted as heat because current flow is halved.
it depends on what your flying style is ....if u want only sports flying then 3s is enough ...but if u want to advance to 3d and beyond that is insanity i recommend 6s .......there are alot of pros while running 6s ....unlimited power can be achieved with a proper motor esc combo ....6s is easy on lipo packs as less amps are sucked out ....battery remains for more cycles ....u will just require an esc of 35 amps supporting 22.2v which is cheap .... n u will never run short of power no matter what maneuver ..just make sure u dont run 6s on a clone of cheap quality or ur bound to blow it to shreds .... alzrc stuff is fine ...and all competition brands are fine to run 6s ....
well i do run 6s and i know the power and performance it can deliver ...
so again depends on ur flying style sport and soft 3d 3s is good ....
beyond tht 6s on a 450 -480 is just phenomenal ....
hope this solved ur confusion..

I don't agree . I have flown many 450s in last 2 years on 3S from the starting of my Rc life . I shifted to 6s Lately (2-3months) and I feel the difference : less bogging and lots of pop.
Fine dhruva you have more practical experience than me in 6s setups :) . The main advantage using 6s in 450 is it would take me only approx 40 min at 1C to charge ~1300 mah packs instead of over 60 - 70 min for my 2200mah packs - for the same flight duration. But still a 450 with 3s setup using higher C rating lipo should not be bogging. My 2 c.
Hehehe . I was using earlier 45C+ packs on the Pro with governor but had lil hard time with aileron tic toks (bogging as compared to 6s) so I switched to 6s . But still That was enough power from a 15$ motor Lol.
and i used to freak him out when flying low with his heli roflll :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle:
i just came across high powered 3s 450 heli motors good for sports as well as insane 3d
motors from kde and other china rated 1200watts on 3s for 450
Bro I know bout those but seriously are u ready to spend 200$ on kde and u will need at least 65c 3s with tht motor c how much u will spend in the end
i was talking about this

Use the NTM from hobbyking. More then enough
I had 2 of 450 both chinese while flying i feel the need to give more power to them
As the are crashed and are beyond repair i am buying a new
I thanks for the replies
And will go for 6s
I saw that motor its a good one 1700kv
Thanks for advice
Enough power
