today an accident occured involving me and my align trex 600 helicopter. Actually this heli was sitting in our store room since 2 - 3 years and so the engine bearing (redline RL-53H) was rusted ,i overhauled it and wanted to try out the engine, but in my excitement i ignored the transmitter and thought of controlling the engine manually. The main blades were removed but the ideal setting was too high . So as soon as the engine started it began at a very high speed and i knew that if u hold on to the rotor if its not rotating it wont turn ...but it was moving and i tried to stop it . i know i did a foolish thing but i wanted to tell everyone that be careful and please dont take shortcuts. Had i used a tx i could have stopped it...and anyways there was no need to stop it...but things happened in an ugly manner...but i still love my helicopter 8-)

foolish thing to do, this is what happens when you are not regular. excitement leads to accidents.
you could have simply pulled off the fuel tubing cutting fuel supply to the engine and allowing it to cut off.

Sad to see this. We all make mistakes. Though, some mistakes provide a winner for Darwin award. Keep you spirits high. This will certainly generate some respect in your heart for these machines for the power and the damage these can inflict upon you.

Be careful next time.
