hi guys.
ALL metal to metal threads.........nuts and bolts........... MUST be locktighted....... this is a compound you put on the thread 'and allow to dry' befor doing up the screw/bolt ...it helps stop the screw/bolt from 'vibrating' undone ....it will do this if the compound is not used .
there are three types/strengths ........soft. med. and hard. the medium is best as it will unscrew with tool with out too much trouble  or if you have a stuburn one and it is not touching plastic part then heat from the end of a soldering iron will help soften it to unscrew with tool.

Hi Srivatsa,

I was the guy at RCB who checked your heli, All the settings are fine for the heli but you will have to check for loctite in most of the joints. As i said when we met up, Plz Plz dont try to fly your heli right now, I believe you are still not very sure and confident of your stick movements and what each movement of the stick corresponds to respective movements in your heli. Best advice is wait for the sims and practice on that, In the meantime you can check for loctite on your joints and practice for a while at the store itself.

HI MATE.
as said above why learn on this heli?
a heli is like a child's balloon on a string...... the slightest air movement will move it ...that is wind, drayght and air from the blades you need to use two sticks to control it .
google for RADDS SCHOOL OF FLIGHT'  and follow that.
can you ballance a golf ball on a foot ball for 1 min??................ no????................... that is like a heli.
constant stick movements are needed..

I agree with Don and Sujju sir on this. The heli will never remain stable when u give ONLY the throttle, You will have to keep giving appropriate and small amounts of correction from the other stick as well, you'll only realize this after sufficient amount of flying time on a simulator.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for that information. I'll make sure metal to metal joints are tight enough. One more doubt i hooked up the transmitter to the computer and used the software "t6config.exe". It shows the stick moments corresponding to channels. i noticed that as soon as i increase or decrease the throttle (channel 3 i think) channel 2 also changes (Channel 2 corresponds to rudder ) "swash plate left-right movement i believe" . why is that ?

when i cut the throttle and increase the throttle, i however notice that all the cyclic servos move up or down in unison.

@sujju
Sir, i have PM'ed you my number.

Thanks and Regards,

hi mate.
the heli uses what is called ccpm mixing.
electric mixing.
so all three servos will move to lift the swash plate and alter the 'pitch [ angle] of the blades this is what makes it fly.
I really think you should read up on the principles of heli flight etc as this knowledge is required to fly these models.
the rudder moving with the throttle you may be giving a little left or right movement with the throttle stick when throttling up and down this is common and will rectify itself in time ....experience .. or there may be some throttle /rudder mixing set in the radio.
these stick are very sensitive to movement .so only small amounts of movement are used on all directions except throttle which is a slow movement.
learning to fly these is a slow process and 'can' take several months to get to just taking off,.......rushing this will only end up in disaster and lots of money and time spent in repairs and possible personal injury.
a heli if handled wrongly will actualy total destroy it self.
take it slowly, take care, and above all .enjoy it.

Hi All,

Very sad news. So what the forum and sujji sir tried hard to prevent happened finally. And a horrible feeling :(.  I'm sitting and typing with my shoulder hurt very badly and my heli tail bent.

i really don't know what the hell !! happened.

I Read through radd's school of flight 1st lesson,
Put a square box any was getting to get accustomed with the throttle.
I didn't even raise the throttle to even a quarter. i felt blades were spinning fast. So i cut the throttle and thought its enough risking around. so went close to remove the battery. Before i could remove the battery I felt the servo buzzing and in a nick of time blades started spinning and all hell broke loose.  :(

Transmitter was on throttle down and throttle cut was "on". Still the heli started spinning. i jumped out but not before bruising both shoulders. Blades hit my arms and feels like cold whip hit me :( . in next 30 seconds i could do nothing (Tx throttle was down with throttle cut on what else i could do :( ). Within a min transmitter switched of as battery was low.  >:(  The red light on the TX i should have listened to it :(

I'm suspecting tx battery. Because it was low, ESC generated random signals !! ?? :(  ???

I'm feeling horrible :(
inspecting the heli i can see the tail is bent. I feel this is not my day :(
:(

sujju sir, :( .. i'm watching your build series, look like i have to speed up watching. cant watch my heli handicapped. need to fix it :(

Hellyflyer

You are  right Tx Battery was the culprit which gave irregualr signals to the Rx to on to the fail safe mode which is at mid stick 0 degrees blade pitch which is why the heli spun up

So in future make sure that your Tx has full battery.

Get well Soon ... :salute:

yes its ur tx battery. brother neva ever go near your heli while its spooling around.  :o
lucky you that u got away just with just bruises .  :salute:............and as far ur heli is concerned ,its just a machine and u can get the spares anytime . take care of ur self .
happy flying

Guys,

Should i dismantle the entire heli and rebuild again? i have a feeling it will give me a better idea and understanding. What you guys think ?

Thanks and regards,
Srivatsa

Hellyflyer

Yes,

It's recommended to rebuild it entirely, Use Trex 450 manual to build it this time.
