OK so this is gonna help all the guys who are just getting into helis ...it will help them decide on which gyro is good .....so everybody already owning flybarless gyros or flybar tail only gyros pls vote above for the gyro u own ..n please post your experience bout it ...n if ur gyro is not in the list please do let me know
OK so i have owned AVIONIC G560 its a great gyro holds the tail really good very easy to setup and affordable and a must have ....TAROT ZYX, AVIONIC X5,ROBIRD G31 ...owned all 3 out of all i found the AVIONIC X5 and ROBIRD G31 as the best perfoming low cost gyro available on the market today ....TAROT ZYX is good but not good enough .....AVIONIC X5 and ROBIRD though low cost both deliver the best performance iv ever seen from a gyro .....i do recommend it to all getting into flybar or flybarless gyros ........
Used the Robird G31 - it is great for its price. I still haven't fine tuned it - so i have the random tail wag. But it has lots of features which only expensive gyros have like Governor and HV servo support etc
Set up was also fairly simply.
Unlike other gyros, all accessories are included in the retail pack. Whereas for most other gyros, you have to spend another 50 odd dollars to buy the supporting accessories.
Apparently this whole poll is wrong, and will never work, because you mixed the categories. For example, when it comes to Flybarless, I would rate Mikado VBar as the best that I have used. When it comes to simple tail only gyro, it would be the Spartan ones. But there is no way I can vote for both.
I would say delete this thread, and start separate polls for each. Or expand the list.
will sure do it :salute: :salute:
Anybody else having FBL gyro and would like to share your experience .... ??? ??? ???
I have used beast x and its good....It even comes as spektrum integrated receiver AR7200BX...
Fairly simple to set up and is rock solid...
Would love to get a Mikado V bar silver line, seems to be the best in market...
How difficult is the beast X to setup? I have seen the beastx manual and its huge and seems like daunting task to complete the setup process. How was your experience?
And how is the tail performance?
Does it have governor?
Sujit did not read bout a governor in beastx i know mikado Vbar has governor ....the avionic X5 is the same and setup is very easy in fact too easy ...the beastx current software has some more features the V3 but am sure it does not have a governor cause i did not see anything while reading bout it .....has anybody got the MSH BRAIN or ikon flybarless unit it seems its better than the VBARS
Thanks Shannon, Yeah, i too figured it does not have a governor build in.
But my question is, suppose I have a beastX and I would like my helicopter configured in governor mode? What options do I have?
I know one option is using the ESC governor - but that seems old tech now
no u dont have any other option i guess ...u should go for the MSH BRAIN OR IKON FLYBARLESS UNIT the iknow is tweaked by BERT KAMERRER it has a inbuild gov ...sat ports and has some amaizing features ...it seems it makes the heli feel predictable(MR ALSADI's REVIEW ;D ) also it cost same as the beast x ...silver line is way too expensive for me to even think about at this stage http://helidirect.com/ikon-flybarless-system-p-27668.hdx
Ok.
Even I saw good reviews for the Brain. But, it is big in size compared to others like BX or G31. So doesn't seems like a wise choice for 450
its actually a bit wide but will mount on the side of the frame on a 450... u cant use it below a 450 ...actaully the robird and avionic x5 is sufficient for the 450 ..u will need a brain more likely on the 500 and above models for some killer performance

I just followed the Ronlund videos for beastx, fairly easy to set up.
Tail rock solid, I doesnt have a inbuit governor. N i dont need one at the moment for my level of flying...
I agree with doctor actually the beastx is fairly simple to set up i have seen some videos ...its not hard as it looks for people already flying helis as they know whats what ;D
On beastx, my experience is that it pays to eliminate all vibrations in the heli. Any perceptible vibrations degrades the tail holding through manuevers.
Why is TT GT5.1 not on this list ? It may not be a popular one, but is locally available and performance is supposed to be good.
@Rotorzone TT GT5.1 added i did not know people actually used it so i did not add it ...Also how is the performance of TT compared to other brands as reviews differ pilot to pilot...but most people say its about ok to average gyro......
Hmm not that much votes ...very few guys flying flybarless i guess ...if u do need help in deciding heli fliers of all skills pls do read the flybar vs flybarless thread ...http://www.rcindia.org/helis/flybar-vs-flybarless-head/
