I already have 2 sets of align original gears as well.

The whole set I got coz my Heli is the CMT belt version and not the CMT TT version. Hence atleast 1 set is required for the conversion.

Anyways I was getting 1 set thought I will get 2 more so as to avoid large boxes falling into customs eyes frequently and also its spares I can use. I also read on RCGroups that the ALIGN tail auto rotation gears dont mesh with the TT gears from HK and vice versa. I have to check that out as well.

The torque tubes are slightly bent on all the 3 sets. Looks like they jam packed the units when assembling. The tubes look a little week as well. Hope they take the pitch pump test I usually do. Like coming down at -12 for about 20 feet and immediately give + 12. Rajesh tells its not a good idea when I do that. dont know why  :headscratch:

Finless Bob has videos on how to setup the tail, using the "pitch pump test" (for tail settings).  And he does it well, which is what I follow too.  But you don't go down at -12 (it is more like -9), and you don't go up at +12.  It is more like just making the heli stop its vertical motion by doing a quick punch of opposite pitch (usually like +10 although it can be +12, but for a fraction of a second, preventing the blades from getting loaded and losing rpm).

As long as you have the rubber guide (which you install a little offset from the centre of the tube length), slight bends should be OK.

Some of it is specific to the gyro being tested (the Logictech one which is what I am using on Trex 600N), but the testing methodology is generally applicable.

I don't remember telling that and I'm also wondering what could be the reason  ???

It is possible that I didn't do it on Atom because I didn't want that kind of load on my 20C batteries. It would also strain the gears, but they should be able to withstand it.

Missing flying, still haven't found the time to fix after the crash.

Same thing, missing your support. I have been flying only last 2 weeks and its boring not to have any heli pilots around  :(

Whats all this silicone spray - belt lubricating about?

Why does the belt need to be lubricated?

Which silicone spray to be used?

Is it available locally?

Which brand or

If not where to buy online?

Sorry for lot of questions. Couldn't find much answers online.  ;D

Are you talking about this (Van Degraaf effect) ?

If you run into static issues, the best way is to ground the boom.  Applying oil is not a good long term solution.

Got more spares:  (:|~ The quarks are so small. One for 500 and another for 450 pro TT. Lipos are 40C and 5C charge. Plan to charge them at 1.5 to 2 C

No fun seeing new stuff alone... you have to post videos of all this being put to good use :giggle:

I rarely get time even to touch the sim. Thats why I said the build is going to take a long time. Anyways I will upload the video of the 450 V2 tom

Just connected the gyro and updated the firmware to 2.03. Tell u what. I had tried moving the HK401 and GY401 very very slowly and they were not able to recognise the angular displacement at that rate. But no matter how slowly I move the quark, its able to recognize it and its turning the servo accordingly.  {:)}

This is why I think you will go far in this hobby (and in general) :)  It is a simple yet effective test !

Just realized following align replacement tail shaft wont help. Lots of play. I have to proceed with the stock tail shaft - Its CF, kinda weird. Worried about the safety, but willing to risk.  ;)

Oh GOD! I feel so happy to work on align parts. Its so easy. I never found assembling helis this easy and clean. This would be my last HK build on helis.

EDIT: Just realized i was using blue anabond everywhere. Doh!
